I have received messages from Koodo saying that I need to update the APN settings on my phone in order to remain compatible with group and picture messaging service. However, I am using a Razer Phone 2 and there seems to be no way to edit or add a new APN on my device. I followed the instructions provided by Koodo and I can see my current APN but there is no option to make changes or add a new one. Can anybody help with this? I’m hoping I don’t have to switch to a new phone as I bought it less than 3 years ago and certainly wasn’t expecting to have to replace it already.
I am a programmer. I have an app that can only send email messages. At work we use these messages to let the office know when an outside sale has been made. I use the koodo email to SMS service to receive these confirmations. On October 11 I updated the apn settings as instructed by koodo. Since that time I just get a square box that says "Download MMS". However clicking it does nothing.
Hello, I upgraded from iPhone SE to iPhone 12. Put in my new SIM card and it says SOS on top right corner and when I go to cellular options it’s showing no network available. I’ve done everything turned off. iMessage turned off Facebook turned off phone made sure I was connected to Wi-Fi reset my network settings and nothing is working. I keep saying that my iMessage needs to be activated. Saying when I go to settings general about it states physical sims network not available. Help!
I activated Extended Absence with a custom greeting. It was working two months ago but it stopped working recently. Something changed on the carrier side.Today I logged in to voicemail to try to deactivate and reactivate the extended absence. That appeared to be successful, but the standard greeting plays and not my custom extended absence greeting. Please fix this.
Why is Koodo instructing people to use “aliasredirect.net” as the setting for MMSC?Unsecured http? When I clicked the link on my phone’s browser, I was redirected to a malicious software scam called Tor.jack Malware. Also, my data service stopped working when I used these settings. Can somebody explain what Koodo is thinking with regards to the MMSC link in particular? Insight about the other settings would be appreciated too. Thank you. To get to the APN settings, please do the following on your device: From the home screen: • Tap Settings • Tap Mobile networks • Tap Access Point Names • Tap the Menu button • Tap New APN • Then enter the following information exactly as shown: Field Entry Name Koodo APN sp.koodo.com MMSC http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/koodo/mmsc MMS Proxy mmscproxy.mobility.ca MMS Port 8799 MCC 302 MNC 220 APN type default, supl,
IPhone 12 mini, OS 16.7.2, trying to convert to eSIM; monthly plan; phone says I am eligible to convert to eSIM, and offers all the buttons to do soEverything worked as expected, but at activation step, when asked to confirm, I got the following message:“Once your phone number is transferred, it will stop working on this phone” ?!?I don’t want to transfer my phone number to a different phone, so I aborted. Is there something fishy with the process, or is this just a poorly worded message, and I would be fine?
I purchased an eSim for an upcoming international trip which I plan to use exclusively while away (except hopefully can still receive 2FA verification texts on my primary sim) but I need the proper settings for the iPhone device so I can receive texts for 2FA on the Koodo Sim without triggering Easy Roaming, and use the eSim for all my data needs. Can someone explain in simple terms the steps I need to follow? Assuming I’m a technology toddler here and need ALL the steps. My past experience has been to stay in Airplane mode, or remove one Sim for a local Sim, but with 2FA texts needed for practically everything these days, I’m embracing another #$@! learning curve. TIA
I have traveled from Canada to India. After reaching India, my network is not detecting. I just want to receive text messages for OTP purposes. Before my travel, I confirmed with customer care that no special plans are needed for this purpose; it should just work. However, it is not. I have tried 1) switching off/on and 2) manually selecting the network, but neither of these methods work. Could someone please help me with this? Thanks.
I recently got a Koodo home phone plan but the service has been intermittent. Sometimes it works well but unexpectedly it will not let me receive or make phone calls. I have tried the “reset” of taking out the SIM card and battery but that doesn’t fix the problem. The hub is not close to any electronics that might interfere with the signal. I usually have one or two bars as the cellular signal.
As you may know, Apple introduced a new feature on iOS 17 as outlined in Koodo’s support article here :I was just curious to know if voicemail greeting and settings on iPhone is something we can do with Koodo.https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/iphone/ipha113f4a15/ios
Greetings to all, I have been using using Koodo tab for long years. But recently I am having a problem when I am going to connect it with my computer via USB cable. I am getting this error message “Windows does not recognize it.” I dont know what could be the issue. Could anyone please help me to fix it? Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.
Hello, I made my sim card an e-sim using my iphone 13 pro, and now I deleted it and I want to use my normal sim card again, how can I do that ?
I would like to unlock a Galaxy Grand to give to a youngster, but unfortunately I'm not a Koodo customer.
I have two problems: Some incoming calls to my iPhone go directly to voicemail. Apple Help tells me it has nothing to with my phone settings and that I should contact Koodo. I tried everything recommended on the website, including resetting my phone to factory settings. I then arranged for a “scheduled callback”. A Koodo rep called me back 3 times at the scheduled time but unfortunately they all went DIRECTLY TO VOICEMAIL!How do I solve #1 without speaking to a rep?if I have to speak to a rep, how do I contact one?
Lost my iPhone and replaced with a new one and new SIM. When I try to access my voicemail using the icon on the phone screen I get “Error performing request, Unknown error” When I call my own number I get the voicemail prompts. From reading the other reports in the forum I need a CSR to reset my voicemail, so can a CSR please help do that.
I have an iphone Xs max and updated to ios 17.0.3 and now voicemail shows new messages (which I know are there) yet when I call it say there are no new messages. I have disabled Apple Live Voicemail but no change. I have also rebooted a number of times.
I have just changed my sim to a new phone and now I cannot listen to new voicemails. I can call my voicemail, change the greeting etc but when the phone indicates there are new messages the voicemail says there are none. One new message today is from a Doctor and I would very much appreciate help to be able to listen to the messages that have been left for me.
Saw a brand new unlocked S23 Ultra from walmart, was wondering if it can utilise the 5G network or will it be limited to 4G and LTE?
Since yesterday, whenever I have poor reception, my network kept switching into extended network coverage (ENC) / roaming mode (Telus EXT)… which drops Wi-Fi Calling.I’m living in the province Quebec, in an area where all networks are often saturated (lots of new residential constructions), and I need to have Wi-Fi Calling, especially since I’m working mostly from home.I guess another provider upgraded its antenna nearby, but the reception is still poor/unreliable, so even on ENC roaming, calls/SMS don’t go through. And since I’m on ENC, VoLTE isn’t supported, so Wi-Fi Calling keeps dropping. Any way to block ENC / getting Wi-Fi Calling while on ENC? I looked through my phone’s parameters, in developer mode, to block ENC, but cannot find anything (Moto G Stylus 5G (2022)). Also, I thought at first it was a bug, so I tried all the usual tricks (upgrading/restarting/removing SIM card) with my phone, to no avail. Thanks.
Phone was stolen. I deactivated my phone in the self serve. It makes my device (phone) non usable in north america. Does that also prevent the sim card content from being accessed?
»merciiii!
Is my three year old S10+, 5G capable?Edit: I found the answer. No it is not.
I just switched to 5G plan couple days ago, but the speed is very slow,. Sometimes I cannot even connect to speedtest, or takes very long to load. Not sure what’s the problem. I have 5G on, and am using Iphone 14pro.
So this has been happening with my Koodo service for...I dunno, a decade. I’m in New Brunswick, and often, when someone calls my iPhone from Ontario, it goes straight to voicemail, and doesn’t even show a notification until the ‘new voicemail’ notification comes up, then you can see the ‘missed call’. So far, it’s only been calls from Ontario that do this. And it’s inconsistent. It’s happened on 3 different iterations of iPhone. It is not due to them being blocked numbers….It’s super weird. Any ideas?
Signal is getting worse Perth County Ontario. We have had Koodo phones since 2014 and the signal was 1 to 2 bars on the ground floor and 3 bars on our second floor but in the last 6 months the signal is nil to 1 bar on the ground floor and 1 to 2 bars on the second floor. At times can’t call or text, calls say number not on network and texts do not got thorough. Had Koodo Technical on phone to help made sure we were on LTE autoconnect, which we were but things have not changed.
