We just wanted to take the time to update the community on how Permissive Dialing has changed.It was updated so that customers located in Canada, no longer hear a recorded message when placing a long distance call to another Canadian number if 1 isn’t dialed before the number. The call will now go through, as a long distance call, without any pre-recorded message.Don’t worry! Long distance calls to the United States or other international destinations will still have a pre-recorded message if the number 1 isn’t dialed before the 10-digit phone number. This change only applies to postpaid customers, prepaid remains unchanged.

On November 17, 2021, the Government of Canada will conduct an Alert Ready Test to compatible mobile devices in each province and territory. Alert Ready is designed to deliver critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians. Test alerts educate Canadians on what an emergency alert will look and sound like in the event of a life-threatening situation.The test message will be distributed on TV, radio and compatible wireless devices. The emergency alert will display on customers' devices, accompanied by the alert sound, unless your phone is set to vibrate, silent or turned off. However, not all wireless devices will receive the test message. This may occur for various reasons; device compatibility, connection to an LTE network, cell tower coverage, and device software and settings. To learn more about the Alert Ready service, what devices are supported, and the test schedule for your province or territory, visit alertready.ca.

As Apple announced the upcoming launch of iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and the iPhone XR, we wanted to let the Koodo Community know that these devices will be available for pre-order and purchase from Koodo. iPhone Xs and Xs Max: Pre-order online will begin on Friday September 14, and the devices will be available for purchase, online and in-store, as of Friday September 21. iPhone XR: Pre-order will begin on Friday October 19, and the device will be available for purchase, online and in-store, as of Friday October 26.
