I gave my Dad my old iphone and have already set up his monthly plan, etc. Instead of waiting for his SIM card to arrive in the mail, I picked one up at the Koodo store so that I can get his phone activated. I just realized that the SIM card says “Prepaid”. Can I use this when he has a monthly plan and his own phone??
I have a prepaid plan, and am planning to travel to the US for a few weeks.I hope to use data, voice, and text while there, so was intending to purchase US Roaming Data, Talk and Text Boosters. However, I read in other threads, such as this, that the voice booster only works if one has VoLTE. My iphone 7 has only LTE, not VoLTE, and so it's not clear to me if the "VoLTE for Koodo Prepaid" discussions athttps://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/volte-koodo-prepaidapplies to my phone. One hand, the previous link says "Apple iPhone 6, 6 Plus, and newer" are supported. On the other hand, the same links says VoLTE is activated using a setting "LTE, VoLTE on"that does not exist on my non-VoLTE phone. Is anyone able to shed any light on this, I'd be more at ease. Thank you!
VoLTE is now available on Koodo Prepaid and I received a text message from Koodo recently stating this. The text message also said that my phone is not compatible with VoLTE. I have the Samsung Galaxy S10.Yet, the Samsung Galaxy S10 does support Voice over LTE, I have enabled the option in the Android settings and it is actually on Koodo’s own list of phones that support VoLTE here:https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/volte-koodo-prepaidWhen I spoke to Koodo tech support I was told that the Samsung Galaxy S10 is supported for VoLTE on the monthly postpaid plans but not on the prepaid plans. Why would there be two separate and different lists of VoLTE compatible phones: one for prepaid plans and one for post paid plans. And why would Koodo’s tech support have a differrent list than the one publicly posted at https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/volte-koodo-prepaidIt does not make sense to me that my account cannot be activated for VoLTE when my phone supports this feature.
Hi,I recently unsubscribed from Koodo’s automatic emails and newsletter by clicking the unsubscribe link and was surprised to find that my account has been deactivated as a result. My phone is displaying the message Invalid SIM/Insert SIM and I can no longer login to my self-serve account also. I find this situation quite ridiculous! I don’t understand why Koodo would link my account status to their newsletter subscription. And why would they let us deactivate our account with an email link. Such thing should only be feasible by login into our account. It took me a couple of days to noticed that I wasn’t receiving any messages, and it was only after reading the email inquiring about why I stopped using their service that I made the connection. On top of that, I had just added a full month of service to my account.Could you please provide some suggestions on how I can reactivate my account? i appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.Thanks.
Telus just announced support for eSIM Quick Transfer, which had already gone live quietly: https://www.iphoneincanada.ca/2023/07/06/telus-iphone-esim-quick-transfer-canada/ Any news on when this will be supported on Koodo for prepaid? Currently, it only works on postpaid SIMs. None of my local stores are carrying eSIM vouchers anymore.
A friend asked me for my referral code to join as a koodo monthly user. I am a prepaid customer. Can my (monthly customer to be) friend use my prepaid LYROW6 referral code? Thanks
Hello,I just switched over to Koodo from Public Mobile as I saw some posts on forums stating that Koodo was more compatible than PM as I have been experiencing issues with making and receiving calls using my Light Phone on PM.I am aware that it is not officially compatible with any networks in Canada yet but I have been using my LP perfectly fine for the last 2 years until PM upgraded to 5g. My phone has been having issues hearing people on the other side of the line since. The LP customer service team told me to make sure my carrier has VoLTE enabled. Since Koodo now has it enabled since Feb 22, 2023 on all prepaid plans, I made the switch and I am now on the $25 prepaid plan. I was told, by a Koodo rep that the $25 plan still includes VoLTE despite the plan showing 3g.Unfortunately, the problem still persists and I cannot hear people when I make calls to them. Any advice on how to resolve? I wouldn’t like to change phones preferably. Thank you!
I signed up for a prepaid account yesterday planning to get the extra data promo (last day was yesterday). It didn’t get applied. How do I get this?
Hello,I bought a prepaid Sim at London drugs in North Vancouver last September while visiting from London. I still have the Sim and wonder if I’ll be able to top it up when we return next week? I’ve tried to log into self-serve to check it out, but apparently that get shut down if you don’t top up within 90 days. Many thanks. Many thanks.Steve
Hi, after experiencing major frustration with many different answers from call back agents and some well meaning but conflicting information here on the Community pages, I have another question about USA voice roaming with PrePaid boosters. Is anyone currently in the USA able to use their voice booster now? I just noticed that my Koodo sim card is now IMS-Registered with Mobile Voice Network Type - LTE and Mobile Data Network Type - LTE. So, I interpret that as I am now VoLTE activated (and yes, I have VoLTE toggled on).So, theoretically, now that my phone is VoLTE enabled, I should be able to voice roam in USA? I ask, because my Canadian boosters are starting to run low so prefer to buy annual plan. But, if I’m going to have trouble again with US voice roaming, then I will move to another carrier. I’ve been with Koodo 8 years, and despite frustration early this year, have been a very happy customer. So, can anyone who is PrePaid and using USA voice roaming booster able to give us an u
I am a prepaid customer and want to refer a friend. When I click on the Referral Code in my account it indicates it is copied but then what? It doesn’t take me to any links to refer a friend. Can someone help me with this.
who have best prepad service lucky or koodo plase comment
Hi!According to this article: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/esim-and-esim-vouchersKoodo now supports eSIM Quick Transfer, including the ability to convert a SIM to an eSIM on the device without a voucher:Existing customers:To convert a physical SIM card to an eSIM on the same iPhone using eSIM Quick Transfer, go to: Settings > Cellular > Tap Convert to eSIM > Tap Convert Cellular PlanWait for your eSIM to activate. Your previous SIM card is deactivated when the cellular plan on your iPhone activates. Remove the physical SIM from your iPhone. Then restart your iPhone.Note: Apple eSIM Quick Transfer requires iOS 16.4 or newer I don’t see the option “Convert to eSIM” in Settings > Cellular, and I am running iOS 16.4.1 on an iPhone 12 Pro. My line is prepaid, but this same article says “Any in-market Koodo rate plan (prepaid or postpaid) is available on eSIM”.Any reason why the “Convert to eSIM” option would not display?
My phone was working for text and calls until I changed my base plan to a yearly plan with unlimited Canada-wide calling. Now when I try to call out it says Error 7B1: Phone is not activated on the network. SMS still works.I have restarted my phone several times.I have removed and replaced the SIM card.Any ideas to get it working again?
Hi!I bought a Koodo prepaid SIM card, and completed all the steps of the activation process, including the payment. Three hours have passed, and I still get no service on my cellphone. I also get a notification saying “SIM not provisioned”. In my self-serve page, it says that the SIM card is active.I tried rebooting the phone, removing the SIM card, putting it on another slot, trying it on another device, but no luck.In the FAQ of the Activating your prepaid phone page, question 4 states that I should have received an “Welcome” email confirmating the activation, but I have not. What can I do?PS: I paid with a debit card, and my online banking page says that the transaction was pre-approved, but is still pending. Can this be the reason? Thanks,Ronaldo
So my prepaid plan auto-renewed. On the same day, I changed my plan and was again charged, essentially being charged twice. Am I just out of luck for picking a bad day to renew, or should I be reimbursed for my original plan that I'm no longer on?
Hi Koodo community,I been trying to reactivate my account for 30 mins, re-entering my debit card credentials correctly, only to be greeted with a “Oops! Something went wrong, please try again later”. Is there an issue with my account or is it server issue?Any help would be useful too,Thanks,
My brother is trying to sign in to his Koodo Prepaid account to look at his usage history but he can’t login. The login process claims that he’s supplying an invalid phone number, even though it is correct. (It is the only mobile phone number he’s ever had.) When he tries the forgot password link, it claims not to recognize his email address, even though it is the only one he’s ever had. I’ve looked over his shoulder as he tried to sign in and everything is exactly correct so I’m baffled. The phone works fine so we know the account is still active. I helped him buy a data booster earlier this month. There is absolutely no indication anywhere of any number we could call for tech support so I truly don’t know if Koodo even offers tech support. How do we get the login screen to accept his login information?
Hi!I have a prepaid Koodo line and I am currently travelling the US. I’m not able to place calls, and I think this is because I can’t enable VoLTE. According to the VoLTE on prepaid article, it says that existing customers will have VoLTE enabled during “certain transactions”.What kind of transaction do I need to do in order to force getting the VoLTE profile so that I can enable it in iOS settings? Would a SIM swap work? Can Customer Service force the profile on my line? Thanks!
I would be stopping my koodo prepaid service but I have remaining balance on the account would I be able to get a refund on this amount or be able to transfer the remaining balance to my friend number that is also with koodo?
can anyone give us an update as to when we might see volte for koodo prepaid connections? There is another thread on this topic dating back 6 months that is now locked for comments whereby a Koodoo rep estimated by the end of 2022. The end of 2022 has come and gone, time for a progress report.VOLTE might resolve some of the issues prepaid customers are experiencing in the U.S. (but necessarily all)
Switching from telus prepaid to koodo prepaid, do I need a new sim
I was trying to get my 2022 Koodo prepaid payment history (for tax purposes). I discovered (1) that the payment history only goes back 365 days from today, which is disappointing, but also (2) that the “Custom” date range in the payment history section is hopelessly broken. When you select it, you can select a custom date range within the past year, but when you apply it, you still get the payment history for the last 3 months (or 6 months, sometimes). The fact that the box says “3 months” after you click on “custom,” though now it has a purple border on it.I went looking for a customer service email, so that I could report this bug. Guess what? There’s no such thing. Apparently if you’re not willing to play footsie with the assistant or wait on the phone, they don’t want to hear from you. OK, I guess I’ll post to the community.I went to the community page from within my prepaid self serve account and went to make a new post. It wanted me to log in (though I was logged in to my self se
I recently returned from 3 months in Mexico. During that time I kept paying for my monthly prepaid Koodo plan. I had bought a data booster before leaving and had only used a small portion of it. I had my Koodo SIM with me while in Mexico (and I used it in the U.S. for 2 days en route to Mexico) but for the 3 months I was in Mexico I used a Mexican SIM card. When I got home, I put my Koodo SIM back in and found that the data was all used up. My usage history showed that I had used data while I was in Mexico, which was obviously not the case. I got “customer service” to call me. The rep put me on hold while he talked to “tech support” and then told me that according to their records, while I was in Mexico, my SIM was used in a phone in Canada and he provided me with the IMEI number. It was not a number I have any record of and in any case, I had the SIM with me in Mexico so it is obviously bullshit. The rep said “our records are very precise” and refused to restore my data. YesterdayI c
I have a 5gb monthly promotions (valid for 12months) applied to my Koodo account, I would like to know if I change my plan, will I still have the promotions applied to my account?
