My Dad, a senior, only uses voice calling and uses very few minutes.  I got him the $15/month plan that has 100 minutes.  He probably won’t but if he runs out during the month does his phone just stop working?  This is what I want because he could leave his phone on and have a massive overage.  I have bought him a 100 minute booster just in case he goes over with regular usage but he hasn’t yet.

He can still using messaging.  But, if you have a booster, it will kicks in when allotment minutes are used up. If no add-on, then he can't use talk function untill it renew.

You can check his usage through self serve, so you can monitoring it and add if it necessary.

My MIL is also similar situation. She only use talk ( domestic and international) from time to time and I'm keep monitoring ILD add-on usage.  So far, no repurchase yet😄
