Hi Koodo Community,I was wondering if Koodo Plans recently stopped offering Personal Hotspot? Up until a couple weeks ago I used my Hotspot nearly daily. I recently swapped my physical SIM for an eSIM (I have an iPhone) and since i did that - Hotspot does not work. It connects via wifi or cable - give me an IP address - but websites cannot be resolved. I visited a Telus store just now, and did another SIM replacement for a new eSIM - and I was then told by the rep in store that Koodo plans no longer support Personal Hotspot? The rep then tried upselling to a Telus plan, but I want to confirm that Koodo plans do not support Personal Hotspot? Edit: I’m getting a self-assigned 169.blah blah IP now. I’ve also reset my iPhone’s network settings - but this didn’t work.
I want to turn off the $16 per day Easy Roam international option and just use pay per text message or call. However, in self serve the item that I think does this is called “Easy Roam INTL - PayPerUse Access”. So is this Easy Roam $16/day, or real pay per use? It can’t be both. This is really confusing and should be called “Easy Roam -fixed daily charge” or something. I left International data roaming and international call roaming on just case I need them ( I have an eSim and Fongo so shouldn’t) Please fix this confusing name in self serve so other people don’t waste time trying to make sense if it. thanks
I am looking at getting a sim for my cars stereo, currently i have both my wife and I on a contract with 50GB each threw Koodo. i would prefer sharing my data from one of my plans to my cars, since we do have so much data, and would totally be ok paying 10-15 a month to do this. Now my cars stereo does support android auto but would prefer using the native software instead of a link to my phone. If i cant share that data on my existing plan without using something like hotspot or android auto then, i am either looking for a data only plan or a plan that under 25 a month that has at least 5GB of data that i could use to stream Spotify, use google maps and do the odd lookup. the end goal is not to have a third $50 a month bill for something that doesn't make or receive calls, if that's the case then ill search elsewhere, as i know there are $25 small data plans out there but they jut dont have much to them when koodo seams to offer alot more for a little more in cost, but again i feel
I switched to a new data plan on June 3. My previous plan included 12GB of data and I now have 20GB of data with the new change,When I check my usage, I only see 14.7GB of total data available for usage on my account.Any suggestions why it’s not reflecting 20GB of total data?
My plan currently has Koodo data & sms, and I don’t see that available as a service on newer plans. What does it give me? thank you in advance
Does the Stream+ add-on include data usage or does it use my existing plan’s data?
Hi there, I am new to Koodo and I was sure I have 20GB of data with my monthly plan. My phone itself says I have used 5.63GB thus far and the online account says 2.5GB of usage. I got an alert that I have exceeded my monthly allowance of data and I am unbelievably confused and worried about being overcharged. Please help.
Anyone know why a plan wouldn’t show for someone? I checked the legal and it says its avail for existing customers too, and I don’t have a tab anymore, but the plan won’t show as an option for me. Assuming its a glitch with my previous tab account, but no number to talk to an agent and the callback time are egregious. Thanks in advance!
Website say I need to activate but when I click on it to activate I get the message this subscription through Stream+ plan has already been activate but website still showing not activated
Hello, I have stream + and can not activate it. When I go to the mobile services tab in self-service then scroll down to stream + where I would activate my accounts it states ‘ this serve is unavailable’ so I am unable to use it. What should I do?
Hello,I know that there was an update for the app visual voicemail. Well, I did get a message today. I didn't know that I had to update it. I did and I got this message on my android phone:How do I fix this? I tried to see if I downloaded the app on the Samsung Store or the Google Play Store and I couldn't find it (Perhaps the logo changed. I don't know. Can anyone help?
I've paid off my Tab now, after two years.Currently pay $50 a month for unlimited mins, texts and 12gb data.I want to get the new deal which is $39 a month for the same with 20gb data, but using my current number that I've had for years. Is my only option to create a new line and have a new number?
I already have an existing phone plan with Koodo, but want to get a new phone. However, I would prefer to purchase a new phone elsewhere (not through Koodo). Can I transfer everything (my plan: “Canada-wide Talk and Text $35” with $0, 3 gigabyte “add-on”) over to the new phone, keeping everything the same minus the old phone (could I transfer the old phone’s SIM card to the new one)?If so, what fees would I be charged?
Why was I charged for an Add-on that I didn't add? I would like the charge to be reversed.
I got the mail that I had cancelled my phone number? I didn’t call or long in to text any message to Koodo. Why cancel my phone number? If I did anything is it suppose to confirm with me ? Not just cancelled directly right??We’re sorry to see you go. You recently scheduled to cancel your wireless service on June 15, 2023, for the following phone number(s):
I’m trying to remove it but it’s not listed in my managed services per Koodo instructions. I can’t find it *anywhere* yet I’m getting charged for it. I have a call scheduled for tomorrow but I’m hoping to resolve this today. It shouldn’t be this hard.
Have had Koodo / Telus provider for years in same location. Both my wife and I received a “Welcome to USA” text message and loss of service. She uses a different provider, but that provider uses the same Telus network. We both do not have a network connection still. (10:08am - 10:57am)Is (/was) there some kind of outage or upgrade?
I want to purchase a new phone from Koodo as I don’t have one now. Will I qualify for the “bring your phone” promo plan when I purchase the phone?
How do I cancel “Device Protection”? It’s a monthly charge and I don’t need it now as I have a different phone with it’s own warrantee.
I have been a Koodo customer for over 10 years. In our home we have 3 Koodo phones for 10 years+. My current phone is an Apple 8+. On Saturday I went to the Koodo/Telus store in Lime Ridge Mall, Hamilton and noticed a sign indicating 20 GB of data for $39. My plan is 20 GB for $45 so I thought I would ask about this and maybe save a few dollars plus get some ideas about my next phone as my older Apple is going to be replaced in the coming months. The store was not busy - I believe it was between 5-6 pm when my wife and I entered. We approached the nearest team member and asked her about the $39 plan after indicating we are existing customers. She told us this offer was only for new customers, not existing customers. Next I asked about what to expect in a new phone with respect to cost when the time came for me to upgrade. She told me the new phone would take my cost to $104/month. I asked how that could be as I am now at $45/month. She said if I get a new phone I would need a
I recently changed from a 50GB plan to 75GB. According to my current status, I used less than 0.06GB last cycle yet I recently received a notification that only about 12.5GB got rolled over. I know that Barbie has asserted that “math is hard”, but hopefully there’s a simple explanation for how 50 - 0.06 = 12.5. The rollover last month was similarly unexpectedly small, so it’s not a one-time error.
I’ve replaced an old-fart flip phone with a smart phone on a second line. My choices are 250MB data or 40GB data, which I’ll never use in a million years. Is there no happy medium, say 4GB? And how do I inform the robot that the phone is new?
I have a phone that for sure can handle VOLTE/WiFi calling (I had it on Telus 2 days ago before I ported over to Koodo). It is a Xiaomi, which is not officially supported but certainly has the right version of android and that hardware to do it (as again, it was up and running just fine on Telus 2 days prior). I can not find the feature to add in my add-ons/plans. Is there a way to activate it on Koodo’s end? I thought this features was supposed to be automatic. Also, my SMS messaging on android is running fine, but my RCS messages are not going through despite it saying I was connected to the RCS service and was online. I investigated this further and it looks like the RCS in android’s default messaging act is still linked to the original Koodo SIM phone number. I ported my Telus number over to this SIM. Is there any way to manually override the original number Koodo gave to me? I never used it as I ported my old number over immediately. Many thanks for your time and consideration on
Hi,Now I am in China and I activated the voice roaming and easy roam recently. But I still cannot receive any messages from Canada. Is there anything I missed?
Hello. My current plan is 35/month with 2 gig of data, there is currently a summer sale for 39/month with 20gig of data. however, when i try to change my plan, it doesn’t show this option, instead, it shows me the 50/month option and above. why can’t i pick the 39/month option?
