Received an email telling me my password "does not meet our security standards"
I hadn’t logged in to the Koodo website for some time but I received an email saying that my password "does not meet our security standards" and needed to be reset. So this suggests that Koodo is storing the passwords in plain text to do some sort of check on them which is extremely bad practice. My password was one I created with a random password generator so I’m not sure what they disliked about it but that’s beside the point, they shouldn’t be able to know anything about the content of my password except at the moment I’m logging in. The only thing they should be storing is a salted hash and they shouldn’t be able to do this sort of check against that.I’d also like to point out how stupid it is that the password requirements prohibit spaces. Again, the password should be being hashed. A passphrase consisting of multiple randomly selected words is one of the best ways to make a password, and prohibiting spaces makes this inconvenient. If the problem is that the password is old,
Credit for joining Koodo when you know a Koodo customer
Hello,Recently, a friend of mine joined Koodo and purchased a plan. When they were checking out, their Koodo representative informed them that if they know someone who wants to join Koodo, they along with the person they know will get a $50 credit. My friend told me about this and I found a plan I would like to switch over to. My question is what information do I need to know about my friend when I tell the Koodo representative about the credit offer? Is knowing their name and number fine? Or will I also require their account number? Thank you for the help!
Why does Kodoo Loyalty call me but always hang up?
Kodoo Loyalty from a recognized number 866-448-8030 has called me March 28th at 3:50, April 6th 7:00pm, Apr 17th 5:24pm and again today at 4:09pm. Everytime I pick up first ring I hear them just hang up on me. What is the point of this? This is getting ridiculous.
Extremely disappointed and frustrated with Koodo's services (For Customer Support)
Dear Koodo Customer Support,I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the services provided by Koodo. I have been a customer of Koodo for about 9 months now, having purchased an iPhone 13 base model and a plan for 20gb data for $60 as part of the back to school deal.At the time of purchase, I was promised a discounted rate of $32 a month for the iPhone 13 base model and a plan for 20gb data for $60, and I was told that due to the back to school deal, my plan was reduced to $45 a month for a period of 12 months, after which the plan would go back to $60 a month. I trusted Koodo and believed that I was paying the right amount every month.I have always paid my bills on time and never questioned the price or looked into it much since I trusted that I was paying the right amount that I was promised. However, when I was looking into getting a new phone and plan for my mother, I took a closer look at my current tab balance and what was left to pay. To my shock and frustration, I
Are IP addresses dynamic or static? Might have a serious problem here.
I am wondering because with my phone data I am permanently IP banned for making a post on an imageboard that I didn’t post. Apparently I made a post that had some illegal content and the ban was made on the 4th of January, just found out about it today. I can still post on the website through my wifi at home but can’t on my phone.A part of me at first was thinking maybe someone stole my IP address and made some abhorrent post and then pinned it on me. My one friend says that maybe my phone provider (Koodo) gave me a different IP address that was last owned by someone who made that post. Apparently IP addresses switch over time and I’m wondering if that’s true.If my IP address has never changed then someone stole it. I’ve already phoned the cops about it because if that’s the case I could be in some serious hot water if someone is using it for illegal things. Please respond. Thanks.
No 'Forgot my password' email or text received
I have requested help for my account multiple times. I have received no emails or texts/calls about help getting my password. It is not in my spam folder. It seems there is no number i can call as well. It would be good for someone to reach out immediately,
Not one to complain but really disappointed in Koodo
Been with Koodo close to two years now. Have always paid on time and in return they decide to bump up my monthly bill. Virgin has a promo for 30gigs at 45 after tax and doesn't look like Koodo is planning to match that. Tried to reach out to customer service at Koodo but was told they don't have a call center per say. The best one can do is call local vendors (good luck getting past voice mail) or use self serve and spend an hour chatting to a useless bot! Do not recommend this provider.
Number Swap between lines
I want to add a line to my account and swap the numbers between an existing line and the new one. It’s important that the swap is done as I need the new number to be attached to my existing rate plan, while my existing number can have a new plan… I can’t just trade SIM cards. If it changes anything, both lines would be on BYOP plans and no tab balances. Is this possible?
Roaming charges on flight from Calgary to Montreal
On April 30 I was on a flight from Calgary to Montreal and during the flight I got a text from Koodo saying that I was roaming in the USA. Then when I landed in Montreal I received a text saying welcome back to Canada. I found that kind of odd since I never left Canada, then I looked at my bill and saw a charge for $10 for data roaming; anybody ever experience this?
do i start paying for new phone plan with new device right away?
Hello.I am looking to purchase a new phone, new plan, new sim, all that fun stuff. I am wondering if I need to start paying it as soon as I receive it or will it wait until I activate/set it up? is there a limit to how long I can wait? I currently have a phone through a line under my ex’s account, and he refuses to separate it for me so I am going to have to just buy a whole new everything and create my own account. My current phone will probably end up getting cut off because I am refusing to pay it unless my ex finally agrees to separate my line and let me have my own account with this current SIM and number. I just don’t want to end up having to pay for both my current phone and the new phone I am looking to purchase at the same time.
Transfering phone number to Koodo from another providers eSIM, which IMEI to use for generating the text message?
There is IMEI2 which is the eSim with other service provider, and there is IMEI, which is for the physical Sim, but is not used and is empty. I cannot use the account number as there are multiple lines on that account with the other service provider.
How do I leave a review on a Customer Service Rep?
The customer service rep I had today at 1pm was fantastic! He was incredibly kind, was fantastic with conflict resolution in terms of why my data was used so quickly and how to prevent it. He also worked with me to get me extra data to fall back on, and gave me some extra to tie me over until my next cycle as my work heavily relies on data. Valued my time and made sure that I left happy! I would love for this message to get back to him; I never leave reviews but he was great and I want him to know how great it was :)
Easy Roam Charges when I did not leave Canada
This is a real problem and the answer from Koodo was to put my phone into airplane mode every time I leave my home. I live very close to the US border have set my roaming OFF and I still get a once a month random easy roaming charge. I paid this by accident last month but see that easy roam was triggered again on April 22, 2023. So I will be charged again for a service that I did not use. March 19 - 3:17pm for $14 and April 22 - 7:22pm for $14 I would leave Koodo but I have a phone to pay off first. A loyal long time customer (over 12-years) and this is happening. Can you please disengage Easy Roam off of my phone. Putting it into airplane mode is not an option as I need to be accessible by phone when I am not at home. The last time I called Koodo they said they would not reverse the charges as it is my fault that this is happening. Seems odd that I have lived in the same place for over 12-years and this has just started becoming a problem in the last few months. Adding to this the
