Hi - we bought a BYOD SIM card from Koodo. I put it in an old Telus phone ( I was told this would work without a problem) but it will not register on the Koodo network. IS there something else we need to go to get the SIM registered on the Koodo network?Will a Telus phone work on the Koodo network or does it need to be unlocked & if so how can I check if it is locked? thanks
Got a new phone last night. Sitting in my home right now and says I'm roaming. Been in my home for 2 1/2 years and have never had this problem. Why is my new phone doing this?

I’m currently with Public Mobile, and I recently found out that they usually throttle their 4G LTE down to 3G speeds. I see that Koodo and Public are both sub-brands of Telus, so I was wondering: does Koodo do this as well?

Lately I have not been able to use my data while I am out. My texts will not go nor can I access any apps that require data on my iphone. When I am connected to wifi everything is fine. I have not used up my monthly data limits and I have already reset my network connections. Both my kids who are also on Koodo are experiencing the same problem. Someone said it is because there is too much traffic on our one tower in town? Any suggestions? I am really considering switching carriers. I have missed important texts and emails while I am out.
When I hold down the “1” to access voicemail it says “voicemail number unavailable”. When I go into the voicemail settings to check it shows no voicemail number assigned, but you can’t click on anything to input a number. any thoughts?

Hi Everyone, I’ve signed up for Koodo Mobile yesterday and I’ve had the unfortunate circumstance of facing difficulties at almost every stage of the signup process. I requested to port my number from Freedom, but spent the last 48 hours in the blank. Koodo has informed me that Freedom and Virgin Mobile have been experiencing issues with their service and have been unable to send a Port Request SMS.Therefore, the Koodo Customer Service Rep changed my temporary number in hopes of pushing through the request. That attempt initially failed and I had to endure a 48 hour wait before randomly getting a Port SMS. Upon accepting and replying “YES” my original number was disconnected and upon putting the new Koodo sim card in my phone the number was never ported (or potentially ported to the original temporary number assigned). In any event, I’ve setup three call backs and I can’t manage to receive any assistance. The automated system asks me to select “1 to talk to a representative” and then t
Hello, i ordered a new phone , its unlocked from a. 3rd party. Can i just put the sim i have in my existing phone into the new phone? The new phone is unlocked i bought from 3rd party, nothing to do with Koodo. Will it lock the SIM card up forcing me to have to buy a new sim at a kiosk? Its the same nano sim size so,……. For years I have had a bring your own phone plan. I pay $40 for 500mb data, 500 minutes, and unlimited text messaging. I am now looking at changing my plan and I see a prepaid plan for $30 that is 500mb+500mb with automatic top up, and unlimited calling and messaging. This is a better plan for cheaper. I was wondering what the difference was between prepaid plans and a bring your own phone plan, and if there was any downsides to a prepaid vs my regular phone plan. Any help/information would be greatly appreciated.
There have been many threads on this but have not seen anyone post evidence to show data usage from their phones to rule out apps draining data in the background. I’m experiencing the same thing as everyone has said, random blocks of exactly 100.00 MB of data being used, sometimes more (as much as 1600.00 MB in my case). Yesterday I received an automated text stating I’ve used 90% of my data for this billing cycle.Here are some screenshots showing what the built in android data tracker is reporting vs what Koodo is reporting. I don’t expect them to be exactly the same but when the difference is about 6 GBs, something is definitely wrong. I am 5 days into my cycle and I got a text saying I’ve used over 5G. I’ve never used 5 G in a wholemonth before. When I check on self serve it shows that I’m at 6521/10240, but when I click on view details it shows I’ve only used 518.1641 MB. That’s a pretty massive difference. Which one will Koodo use? Will j get overage charges if the first one is wrong or will it use the detailed number? This is my first month with Koodo so I’m not sure if I should be calling them or if someone can help me here. Hello,I received a roaming alert by Koodo. The e-mail stated:Looks like ***-***-3260 is roaming on a USA network. Just so you know! . . . I am in Canada. Someone else would be currently roaming with my phone number in the United States, or somewhere else.How can this unapproved using of my telephone number be ended?I have not activated roaming in my account. I cannot block this kind of third party roaming. I cannot call Koodo in this matter; and I don’t find any assistance online.What can be done?Sincerely,Rene
