Do I need EasyRoam?

I am travelling from Ontario to California for 2 weeks. My Koodo coverage includes international texting. I don’t need to make phone calls. If I use wi-fi for internet and just text, do I need EasyRoam?  Its so confusing.

The international texting included in your plan is only good to text internationally while you’re in Canada.
You would need EasyRoam if you leave Canada unless you want to use the payperuse rates for roaming.

For 2 weeks I would get a local US prepaid sim and just use data. 

Use a data based messaging app to keep in contact with friends and family

@Christine You already have Easy Roam on your account. It a free feature until one actually start using it.  If you just want to rely on wi-fi and you put your phone on airplane mode/turn data roaming off, no charges  should kick in at all. Easy Roam would simply allow you to use your phone like you do in Canada. If you need access to regular texting without Easy Roam standard pay-per-use rates are available as well.  Accessing those, you would have to remove Easy Roam from your account.
