ASIA 14 day travel pass for South Korea?

One thing that trips people up due to bugs in Koodo system. the confirmation text sometimes only says you purchased more data, and on landing you may get a "you do not have Easy Roam" welcome message. Neither really tells you much, so I would confirm the travel pass addition in Self Serve under Manage add-ons that the pass is on the line before you fly.

Where is the information that I can buy it 30 days before my trip? How far in advance can I buy the Travel Pass?

The only information I see for the Asia Travel Pass is the following below. It says nothing about buying it early. Only that it remains active on your account for 30 days from the activation date. (I take this to mean it will drop off from your self service account 30 days from when you first use it in Asia)

You can buy a travel pass whenever you like. The travel pass will stay on the account until it is either used or expired, whichever comes first. If the pass expires and is not used, you’re not charged for the pass. You can purchase now if you want, just make sure to check your travel dates so that it does not expire while you’re travelling (30 days from now)

You can purchase the pass by texting ASIA14 to 7626 by like in the image. If you do purchase it early, say today, just make sure to check your travel dates. If your pass expires while you’re travelling or is used up, you can purchase another pass. Note you can only purchase another pass after the previous one is used or expires.

I saw this on the web about the Travel Pass. Here, it says  you can purchase the Travel Pass 30 days in advance.  Once it is activated the count down starts for the usage. This is what I think it means:

Example:
I purchased a 30 day European Travel Pass today (August 20).  I activated on September 15 when I landed in Europe.  Then my pass would expire on October 14  and not expire on September 19.

You’re close but  that is not quite correct. Using the Asia pass for example as that is the one you’re looking to buy, the 30 day expiry begins from when you purchase the pass. The “count down” it refers to where it begins when you land in the eligible country and start roaming is for the 14 days of consecutive usage, not the 30 day countdown for expiry. That is a set date from the day you add the pass to your account.

if you purchased the pass today, it will expire 30 days from now (sept 19th). Even if you start to use the pass  part way through, the expiry date is set and the pass will expire on the date that is specified. If you plan to arrive at your travel destination September 15th, you can purchase the travel pass a week early and be covered if you’re travelling for less than 14 days. I recommend you do this instead. That way it gets setup early and you have no risk of the pass expiring during the trip.

I was just trying to figure out exactly what the policy is so it may help other people thinking about activating the Travel Pass early.

My example above was for the 30 day European Travel pass. This means that anyone buying a 30 day pass and expecting to be away longer than 30 days can really not activate early or they will lose out on the days they activated early. Activating a 30 day pass on the day you arrive at your destination could potentially be a headache if something went sideways like Dinh mentioned above.. Would you get charged in Europe for texting the code to activate the pass at your destination?

EDIT: I am mistaken on the 30 day pass. It remains on your account for 45 days.

In my case I am gone for 10 days at the end of the month to Asia. I bought the 14 day pass today (Aug 20) and it expires on September 19. I will be back in Canada on September 9.

Don't go by that AI Overview — it merged two different clocks. ​Oliver C has it right. The 30 days runs from the day you add the pass to your account, and the 14 consecutive days runs from when you land and start roaming. Both clocks have to fit around your trip.

For your actual trip the math works out fine. Adding it today gives you until roughly September 19 to start using it, and you're landing at the end of August, so you're well inside that window — no need to wait.

Once it's on the line, check Self Serve → Manage add-ons. The pass shows an explicit "use by" date there. That's the date to go by, not a web summary. And turn data roaming on after you land, otherwise the pass won't activate.

Ah I see, my apologies. I will use what I mentioned and word it in regard to the 30-day Europe pass instead. For your instance of the travel pass with Asia and your travel dates you will be covered as you will be using 10 days and will return before the expiry period from the dates you have specified.

With the 30-day Europe travel pass, you can indeed purchase these early, but only by 15 days to be able to get full use of the pass. This is because unlike the 14-day passes, the 30-day passes expire after 45 days instead.

so, if the 30-day Europe pass would be purchased today, it would expire 45 days from now (October 4th). Even if you start to use the pass part way through, the pass will still expire on October the 4th and will not extend pass that date. To get full use of the pass, the user will have to begin using their pass within 15 days post purchase. The countdown the ai overview refers to is the consecutive days of use, not the expiry date. This is the same as I mentioned before. I hope this clears things up.
