Why do I need a new SIM card if I am updating my plan and not getting a new phone? 

So, if you tried to update your plan. How did you try? If they want to send you a new SIM, then you are trying to adding a line on your account...?

For Changing plan. Log into self serve > mobile service > change plan.

That is not correct. You can keep your existing SIM card. Where did you change your plan?


No I'm not trying to add a line. I'm trying to update my plan. When I go to checkout, there is a $5 SIM card charge and I dont know why.

To change your plan online you need to sign into self serve, click ‘manage plan and add ons', then select 'change plan'. If you go to the Koodo webstore and select ‘shop for plans', that's the procedure to sign up for a new line.
