Tokenization Error: Error Code 4001


Hello, I am a longtime Koodo customer and I am trying to upgrade from my current Pixel 6 to a Pixel 9 Pro phone. I have attempted to place an order 3 times using the Tab Mid option with a $55/month plan. Each time I get to the final Checkout step, I receive a tokenization error with error code 4001. Per Koodo's recommendations on their Help page, I have already tried a different credit card, a different browser, and clearing my browser's cache & cookies. I noticed in a Koodo community forum that someone stated Koodo is aware of the issue and is working on a solution. However, I just want to confirm that this issue is on Koodo's end and thus applies to everyone accessing the website. Thanks in advance!

Honestly, it makes me want to leave… well it does now that I have tried and failed again to get customer service from the stupid bot. 

Honestly, sending smoke signals is better than dealing with their stupid bot.

It should accept a wide number of words to schedule a callback, including “schedule a callback”

Yup, all during the workday. I don’t think my principal would be okay with me taking a call.

You could ask. Try to align it with a break time slot. This is convoluted, and if you don’t want to call or go to a store/kisok to make the purchase, that is understandable. Just trying to present alternatives, and typicall calling is convenient but if you also don’t want to go to a store, that’s also understandable .

I am also getting the same when trying to create a new account to order a BYOD plan.

Getting tokenization error. ERROR CODE - 4001?

Please fix asap so we can order service.

I just tried again to complete a new activation (on behalf of my husband) and it worked! Order has been completed and order confirmation email received. Happy camper. :)

We did not have so much of a happy ending. We had tried to do this on my account. Unfortunately, Koodo only had callback times during my workday. My wife then set up an appointment to add the line to her account instead. She took time off from her job to do this. 

The Koodo agent who called. However she told my wife that there were no reports of any errors and  tokenization or otherwise, and therefore we were charged a $70 fee. We can contest the fee and are trying to do so. 

So, yes we have added another line. No Koodo customer service has not improved.

I placed my order at around 9:30 PM PST last night and it worked successfully for me.
