Question

Sim 2 not allowed

I recently purchased a used pixel 7 and tried activating a prepaid esim for the phone. I checked the imei and the device has not been reported as stolen or lost. I tried two different Bell sims and the phone could connect to their network, additionally I verified that the phone is unlocked as it can see other networks when it has an active sim. The phone gives the error "sim 2 not allowed" even though it recognizes the sim. It refuses to connect to the Koodoo/Telus network.

Did this help you find an answer to your question?

So just confirm, you haven’t added any eSIM successful with the Pixel 7. Where did you get the device? It appear the activation process isn’t completed. Have you got a physical sim to test out the phone?

As well, do you have a wifi connection when you activated the eSIM?

Yes, I have not been able to connect using an esim. I got the phone from a seller off Ebay. I tested the phone with a physical Bell sim and it worked. I also tested it with another Koodo physical sim that was working in another phone and got the same error on the first sim slot. I did have a wifi connection when activating the esim.

So the error happened only when you used a Koodo SIM (both physical and eSIM)? if so, the phone might have particular issue with Koodo/Telus. I would recommend you visit a Koodo store and ask a rep to look into it.

I assume you have done a factory reset when you received the phone?

Yes, so far I have only had the error using Koodo sims (physical and esim). I factory reset the phone prior to attempting to get it on network. Thank you for your replies, I will attempt to contact Koodo about this before taking it in.
