Texts from some contacts received only when connected to WiFi, why is this?

I have a few contacts that I get their texts from only when I am connected to WiFi.

This only happens with a few of my contacts, and I can’t figure out why…

Further to that instead of green speech bubbles, when I send they appear in blue periodically…

It’s frustrating because from these few people there are times I only get their texts days after sending, as I am not always connected to WiFi

I have a $25. per month no data plan with Koodo.

My phone is a Galaxy Note 9.

I’ve been trying to figure this out for some time now, with no success.

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I assumed you use the normal message app? Also, did you enable cellular data in your phone?

If you only received those when you were on WiFi and your plan didn't include any data, those messages might be sent by RCS. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/next-generation-messaging

If you would like to received those, you can try to disable rcs in the phone and see if it help. You could also look into Koodo “stater plan” with some data.

Thanks for the reply.

I use the messaging app that came with the phone and it’s corresponding OS.

...“try to disable rcs”…

I have no plumb ducky idea how to do that but I will look and try…

AND I will look at the link you offered.

Crossing fingers that one or the other will lead to the solution I need, I will post back if it does.

Thanks so much for taking your time to respond with your suggestions.
