I was coming from night shift half asleep whem i recieved an email notification from koodo team abouy how likwly will you recommend koodo to your friends from 0 to 10. It did not request for sensitive data but the survey goes on to ask about how excellent was the service from excellent to poor, what type of service we use, what internet and cable we subscribe. The age range whichbi answered and number of household which i did not answer as opt out. I was going throug my email messages now to delter read messages and i came accross of this phishing messgar i answered.ladt July 7 also included in the.survey of a 500 entry draw visa  reward after answering. I realize this is phishing the only compromise entey is my cellphone number. Do i need to report it to koodo, how and where to report it. Thanks

from your description the exposure looks pretty limited. The survey only asked for service ratings, plan type, age range, etc., and the only real personal info you gave was your phone number — no password, no banking, no account access — so there is not much anyone can do with that alone. Good call opting out of the household question.

I would recommend:

- Change your Self Serve password, just in case.

- Since your number is now out there, the main risk is someone trying to port it out or swap your SIM. You can add free Port Fraud Protection to your account to block that — details here: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/port-fraud-protection It is free, gets added within 24-72 hours, and you will get a confirmation SMS.

- do not click any more links in it or reply to it.

And if you ever want extra guidance on protecting your identity, the Government of Canada has a helpful guide here: https://www.priv.gc.ca/en/privacy-topics/identities/identity-theft/guide_idt/

hI @ABM Can you please post this image in your other post below? You can do so by writing a reply to the other comments and the bottom of the thread and then inserting the image. It is preferred if you keep everything to one thread.  🙂

You only provided your phone number, so it should not be a serious breach. However, you may be subject to a SIM swap scam if you are dealing with a sophisticated cybercriminal.

If you are really worried about the unauthorized use of your information, I would suggest you to consider changing your number on your Self-Serve account to avoid any potential issues in the future and give yourself some peace of mind. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/changing-your-phone-number

@ABM

We see that you managed to speak with a rep in the meantime. Can you please share which email address did the survey come from?
