I am trying to log my request for a reversal of an easy roam charge i got last night Dec 31, 2023  while attending a wedding in Sarnia Ontario. I did not leave the country but was close to the border.

Hi @Heather Harrison

Please reply back here or start a new thread once the bill is ready so we can look into it.

In the meantime, please check out this article to find out more about how to prevent unwanted roaming charges when near the border

I received a text to my phone on December 31st indicating that I would be charged 14.  I followed the recommendations in the self help  and checked to see if it was just activated or if I would be charged and there is a charge for my next month bill.  I attended an event in Sarnia Ontario and I suspect that because I was near the border it set up roaming.  Let me know what more you need to look at my account .  Is this communication private?

What the rep mentioned is: as of now, the roaming fee hasn’t shown up in your account yet. That sms you received might be just a warning.
When you receive the next bill, if you see the roaming fee, you can go back here, a rep will be able to refund you

Hi, I have now received my latest bill and the $ 14 was charged for the time I was in Sarnia, Ontario.  Please refund the charge as I was not out of the country.  I have since learned of a setting in my Mobile settings that will prevent this from happening in the future.  Thank you.

FYI this is a public forum with mostly Koodo customers who answer in the community and some reps that provide customer support. When there is personal information(phone number, address, etc) involved, a rep will take it to DMs or advise to reach out via other means. General stuff like you got a charge and need help is handled mostly publically.

I’ll flag a rep to assist with crediting the charge now that it’s on your bill.

Hi @Heather Harrison

We have reviewed the charges and we have been able to apply a credit since it was due to accidental roaming.

The amount due has been adjusted and the adjustment details will be visible on the next bill.
