Question

How do I remove/get a refund on a phone added to my account that doesn't belong to me?

5 days after becoming a Koodo customer, a phone number (that I do not recognize) and tab (for a phone that I do not have plus device care) was added to my account (without my consent) under my name which has added $100+ to my monthly bill. Due to personal circumstances, I was not able to check on my account and I had pre-authorized payments set up so I have been paying for a phone that seems not to exist (no data has been used or calls made). How can I get this phone removed (no option on Self Serve) and receive a refund for what seems to be a technical error?

Did this help you find an answer to your question?

It seems like the device was added on December 4 2025 but I didn’t get billed for anything til January 2025 (which included all of the December portion that was missed from my December bill so the amount for that phone/line was double what I was charged in my February and March bills). My March bill has yet to be paid but the date they withdraw money (pre-authorized 6 days before the due date) is coming up soon.

This is strange, given we are in middle of March.
Did you let anyone to have access to your account? Koodo doesn't simply send phone or set up phone automatically. I would suggest you contact Koodo directly and ask a rep to look into it. Go here www.koodo.com/chat

As well, I recommend  you change password of your selfserve.

Hi @niclit

We see that you managed to speak with a rep over the phone in the meantime.

A request has been submitted and the Fraud department will further investigate. They might need to get in touch with you to confirm additional details.
