call contol now being bypassed by scammers

Seems that the call control is being bypassed now by scammers.
Lots of called blocked, but now receiving a lot of spam numbers from overseas users and other provinces.

seems that spammers have found a way to bypass that feature and be dispatched thru

please fund a fix for this Koodo!

Did this help you find an answer to your question?

Are these live people who are bypassing call control or bots / recorded robo calls that are getting through?

Bots and robocalls. That’s why it’s so annoying

Have you tried testing calling your number from a different phone to see if your call control is working as it should?

It has been working fine for the past 8 months or so. I have a whole slew of numbers tagged as “failed screening” without any glitches.
I’m even able to block live unwanted live callers right of the list of calls in call control

the last few weeks have been horrendous though as robo calls do go thru

Hi ther @Andre Lamarre

Make sure that the Call Control is not accidentally turned off.

In the Self Serve account you can turn it on or off whenever you like:

  1. From the “Mobile services” page in Self Serve, locate and select Call Control.
  2. To turn on the feature: On the “Call Control” page, select "Start Using Call Control"
  3. To turn off the feature: There will be a toggle button under your phone number or under the "Select subscriber" dropdown. Simply toggle the button to the off position to remove Call Control from the account or the line.

Call Control can also be managed with IVR (Interactive Voice Response): Dial * 99 for English prompts.

IVR can be used to:

  • Turn Call Control on
  • Turn Call Control off

If the issue still persists, we would recommend that you reach out to our Technical Support team by scheduling a call-back through our Koodo Assist and they will be able to investigate this further.

I understand it has been working fine the past 8 months.

Clearly it is not anymore.  Some thing has changed.  Hence my question of what happens when you try call ingyour number from another line (that has not be added to the authorized list).

It has not been turned off.  I’m getting too many of these calls. I would know within an hour typically.

Would have been great if Koodo didn’t have their phone list published in dark corners of the internet I n the first place. We wouldn’t need such features as call control

but anyway, I digress
