Hi,

I want to upgrade my Samsung phone.  My current phone has  a micro sim card, but the new phone has a nano sim card.  Will I be able to put the old sim card into the new phone?

It depends on the type of micro SIM you had. If you can punch out the boundary of the old SIM and make it nano sim, then you can put the old sim in the new phone.

If you cannot make change to the old SIM,you would have to get a new sim from a Koodo location and change it with selfserve https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/koodo-sim-support

Thank you for your reply.  My phone is an older Samsung model (Galaxy Grand Prime), so I will likely have to swap the old sim with the new one that should be included with the new phone.  It says this can be done through the self serve account.  Through the “change your sim card”, would all the saved information on my old sim card then be transferred to the new sim card?

Well, with smartphone, your contacts, photos, sms and other are actually stored on phone or your google account. The SIM storage was too small for those. You could check your phone settings and see where those are.

Anyway, if you are moving from one Samsung device to another Samsung, you can use this app from Samsung to do it https://www.samsung.com/ca/apps/smart-switch/ It should help you to transfer almost everything.
