i,m going from an iphone 8 plus with physical sim to a 15 promax with e sim . instructions say if convert nano to esim don t appear on my old phone to contact telus any advice to get this seemingly simple task accomplished since contacting a real person to help is near impossible?

+4Your iPhone 8 Plus is on a physical SIM, so there's no eSIM to transfer, it's simply a conversion of your line to an eSIM. That's also why the convert option doesn't show up on the old phone, and you don't need to do anything on it beforehand.
Once you have the 15 Pro Max you can do it yourself in Self Serve, Koodo sends a verification code to the number or email on your account. The iPhone side is covered here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/esim-on-apple
If the code doesn't arrive or the conversion fails, try Self Serve » Mobile Services » select your number » Get help with eSIM and SIM cards. Otherwise a Koodo store can transfer your number onto an eSIM, you'll need valid ID.
Is there any reason why you want to use the eSIM? From what I know, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is not eSIM-only, so you can continue to use your physical SIM card.
