Transferring SIM on old iPhone to eSIM on new iPhone

I`m having issues transferring my sim card from my iPhone XR to my iPhone 17, the 17 only uses eSIM, I initially had the option to convert the SIM in my XR to eSIM however it required i updated my IOS and once i did that option no longer presented itself, I can attempt to transfer the number using the install method on my 17 and get as far as confirming the transfer and entering the code on my XR that the 17 provides but rather than complementing the transfer my 17 will then tell me I need to contact Koodo to set up eSIM, however upon visiting Koodo that does not seem to the case. I am left confused and at a loss as to what I should do next as none of the the Koodo assist options are helpful and I cannot figure out a way to get a call back or speak to a live agent

Have you also tried the sections:

OR
Existing Customer: Switching from Physical SIM to eSIM

Yes I have tried both of those options, as mentioned in my post the transfer to eSIM option has disappeared from my XR after updating to the latest IOS, and the other method of transfer tells me to contact Koodo for further assistance rather than completing the transfer

Have you restarted your phone?

If the phone restart does not fix things, then you will need to request a callback via koodo assit to speak with a rep

If you have some time, I recommend you visit the store. They should be able to sell you an eSIM voucher where you can convert the physical SIM into the new eSIM in the iPhone 17 without going through the conversion process.

If you insist on the steps from Koodo’s help page, at which step did you find the error? Can you post a snapshot of it here? Hide all personal information before posting, please.
