Are you able to borrow an eligible phone from a family member or close friend? It is a bit of a hassle, but that would be the most cost-effective way to switch to an eSIM.

You can convert your physical SIM card to an eSIM on the phone that you borrow from your family member of close friend. Once that is complete, you can transfer the eSIM to your iPhone 17. You can refer to the following link for a step-to-step guide. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/esim-on-apple

Hi @Isabella2026, if it’s a Tri-SIM, you should be able to punch it out to the Nano size, you can see a diagram of the SIM card sizes here

Are you using the Move to iOS app found on the Play store?

As part of the iPhone 17 new setup process, you should be able to transfer your physical sim to an esim as part of the set up.

Are you encountering a specific error?

Yes, I used move to IOS app thank you — it transferred everything but the cellular, it gave me an error message to contact my carrier however Koodo doesn’t have a phone number for technical support and the auto chat was not helpful.

The iPhone 17 only uses eSIM and my Galaxy S9 does not have the required chip to support a eSIM. I am in then process of borrowing someone’s older phone the I can update my sim to an eSIM.

You can request a callback via Koodo Assist.  The easiest path is to say you want to cancel
