Spam Incoming calls


I’ve got bunch of calls from strangers- They said they got a call from me and just called me back. But the thing is I didn’t make calls to them. I just wonder what’s happening with my number

It is likely that someone is spoofing your number and is mass calling a bunch of people to get someone to pick up. https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/phone/telemarketing/identit.htm

The government has taken some steps to combat this kind of behaviour. They implemented the STIR/SHAKEN framework, which is a caller ID authentication and verification measure. While it has helped decrease the number of nuisance and unwanted calls, there is only so much they can do and the system is not fool-proof.

You have been the victim of number spoofing. Some scammer spoofed your number to call a whole bunch of people, so they’d think it came from you. 

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it, except wait for the scammers to move to another number.

Same thing happened to us. It was really hard to deal with the angry people yelling at us to stop calling them, because we were quite innocent… but eventually it passed.
