Hello Support,

I am from Pakistan , I have an old Samsung A5 (2017) that was originally purchased through KODO CANADA network. I recently purchased this phone as a used device in Pakistan.

The phone is currently hard-locked and is asking for PUK code when I insert a Pakistani SIM.

Here are the device details:

Model: Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017)
IMEI: *****************

Could you please check this device and provide the required  PUK & Unlock PIN codes, or remotely unlock the device if possible?

I would appreciate your assistance in unlocking the phone so that I can use it with a Pakistani network.

Thank you.

A PUK code is for when you didn’t correctly enter your SIM unlock code 3 times. It’s not the phone itself being locked. If it is specifically asking for a PUK code, that is the Pakistani SIM card. Is it working in another phone? If it is, and it’s actually asking for an unlock code for the phone, if you know someone with a Koodo account, they can request to unlock through Koodo Assist with the IMEI. If you do not, you can send a private message to Koodo through Facebook Messenger or DM via Twitter and they should then be able to provide you with an unlock code.

Hi @ALISYED, this device has previously been unlocked. If another code is required (not PUK as this is related to the SIM card as Goran mentioned above) we’d recommend contacting the manufacturer directly. The phone may need the master unlock code, which they can provide.

You can contact them via chat on their website here https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/live-chat-support/
