I would like to remove seasonal hold while I am in Mexico. Do I need to reactivate my simcard or will it work after the hold is off?  Also, Will I be able to receive texts from Canada? Is it adviseable to get Roaming?

You will need to contact a Koodo rep to remove the Seasonal Hold plan on your account. Schedule a callback through Koodo Assist by entering "seasonal hold" in the chat box. https://Koo.do/Chat

In order to do this, you will need to request the callback to another phone number. If you don’t have an alternate number for this, you can send a private message on Facebook. https://m.me/Koodo

Here is more info on seasonal hold:

But since you want to remove it while out of country, you’ll most likely need to send a private message to Koodo via FB Messenger or DM via Twitter instead of the usual callback.

You can always receive SMS free anywhere you are in the world. It’s anything else that’ll cost more money. It depends on your usage scenario for roaming. How long will you be in Mexico for? What do you want to do? Easy roam activates from billable use for 24 hours at a time. If you need the occasional usage outside of wifi, it may be worth it. The longer you’re in Mexico, the more it’s worth it to get a local sim card, I think.

If you only want to receive texts, you could enable international voice roaming and keep data off and just receive texts at no extra cost. Again, it all depends on what you want to use.

Thank you. While I am in Mexico Will I be able to use my Koodo number for account authentication if I have international voice roaming? For example when a code is required for access to my account and a text is sent with the code?

Yes, as you’re just receiving a SMS. That’s always free but requires international voice roaming to be added in your add-ons. Just be weary about data. If you don’t want to use that, I wouldn’t add international data roaming and I would keep data off on your phone, including roaming data option off. I’ve never had the issue but some people periodically report data “leaking” through regardless. And pay-per-use rates are highway robbery.
