When people phone me they have to put in one digit, as prompted by an automated voice, before the call will get through to me. I don't want this feature and have no idea how to remove it. I am missing very important calls as a result, please help me.

You might have setup “call control” feature with Koodo. Did you add it or someone help you to do that?
If you don’t want it, you can remove it in selfserve. More here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/call-control
