I have a Koodo home phone that has not worked in ages, so I ended up getting a second home phone from another provider. Now I am trying to port my Koodo home phone number to the new provider. However, the port request was rejected, as Koodo was unable to reach me.
Of course, the reason that Koodo was unable to reach me is that my Koodo home phone is not working. I had already notified Koodo that my Koodo home phone was not working, so I am not sure why Koodo tried to reach me at my non-functioning Koodo home phone.
Another issue may be that my Koodo home phone appears on my Koodo bill as a mobile phone. I noticed on this thread that Koodo sends text messages to confirm porting requests. However, even if my Koodo home phone were working, it would not be able to receive text messages.
I have already scheduled a callback with a Koodo agent, but I don’t think that the Koodo agent understood what I was saying. So the issue has not yet been resolved.

Hi there,
Wireless home phone numbers cannot receive the port SMS message as you described as the hardware does not support SMS messaging. They also cannot respond to it as the plan is not provisioned for messaging either, just calls. So switching the sim to another device won’t work.
To port the wireless home phone number, you will need to speak with a Koodo rep and have them Manually Approve the port request from their side. This can be done with your authorization after they confirm your identity. I suggest you try to port by either reaching Koodo’s port team at 1-844-232-7678 or by scheduling another call and wait until you receive the callback from the Koodo rep. Once you reach someone, then begin a new port request with the new provider as you only have 90 mins to complete the port.
Note, when scheduling the call back it can be to any number. When the system asks for a number to call, make sure to put a phone number they can call you at and then they will reach you at that number instead. The number they will try to call is whichever you put in when you schedule the call.

I have been trying all morning to schedule a callback, but the AI chatbot keeps giving me an error message: “Unfortunately, I am unable to process your request at this time.” I guess that I will have to go in person to a Koodo kiosk. I really regret having ever gotten a Koodo home phone.
it might be a long stretch but you can try to call 1-844-232-7678 and explain exactly what happened. Hopefully They can verify your identity another way and help push the port through instead of relying on a text you'll never get.
If you can't reach them by phone, Koodo's Expert Messaging is another channel that can look into porting issues Link
