The 2FA text would’ve came in on your old providers sim card.
Do you still have your old providers sim card in your phone or do you have the Koodo sim?

As of now, is the old sim from the previous carrier working? You would need that to receive the confirmation text. More here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/moving-your-number-koodo
Also, when you log into selfserve, did you see the temporary number or your old number?
I changed sims and there was no message from Koodo.
On Koodo when I signed up, the new sim had a different number. Now Koodo lists my old number. Thanks for your help.

The messages should be from your previous carrier, not Koodo. I recommend you follow the step in the link above and do it again. I think the previous number transfer was unsuccessful
