My employer is trying to send me a .doc file to complete via a test to my phone but it is coming up with an error on his end as “not delivered”. I can receive normal texts without issue.. There something I nee dto enable or a setting of some sort to be able to receive this file?

Hi there,

.doc files need to be sent via an MMS message. Do you know if your employer has their mobile data turned on when they attempt to send the file? As it will need to use it in order to send the file. Besides that, what device are they using and how are they trying to send it such as an iPhone via iMessage etc?

Once it is sent to you, you only need a compatible app to open the document such as Microsoft Word etc, you shouldn’t have to do anything else.

There is usually a limit for SMS and MMS messages. It is possible that the file size is too large to be sent as a message. Have you tried removing or compressing pictures in the Word document to see if it works? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/word/reduce-the-file-size-of-your-word-documents
