I have just switched from Altima to Telus. On the Telus modem, LAN light is blinking amber other lights are green. I have internet.

Should I be concern? What could blinking amber light on LAN means?

Is there anything that seems to be missing?

When I looked into this issue, I read that a flashing amber LAN light might mean the connection through the LAN port is limited to 100 Mbps. Are you using a high-speed RJ45 cable by any chance?

No. Just regular RJ45 cable that comes with the modem.  My old Altima modem was all green light and my subscription with Altima was for 100MB.

I did more digging, some gigabit network switch is capable of 1000MB++ speed but my subscription with Telus is only 500MB.

So if the Telus modem is connected to incoming 100MB speed (from outside the house) and blink amber, it means I am only getting 100MB? Or Telus modem can boost incoming 100MB  to 500MB?

If not, I am still getting 100MB speed instead of 500MB, and over paying for what I am not getting?

Eh, that blinking light doesn't always mean your internet is limited to 100mbs. Most of the time, the issues are from cable or/and user hardware configuration.

Do you have another LAN cable that is Cat 5e or 6 to test with the modem? As well, have you checked your pc/laptop to make sure their port is not limited to 100mbs?

Can you run a speedtest using WiFi?
