Koodo cellular services not working on iPhone activated at Best Buy

I’ll start from the very beginning of my experience with Koodo just so that everyone is clear of the timeline:

Ordered a 256GB iPhone Air on May 19th from the local mall.  Works swimmingly and without issue.  I’m happy so far.

On May 24th, I realized the 1TB iPhone Air is at stock at Best Buy and that Koodo is offering it for the exact same monthly rate as the 256GB iPhone Air.  I go to Best Buy without my 256GB phone, activate a new 1TB phone as an additional line, and head on home.  Later that evening, my account was suspended for suspicious usage.

I cancelled the 256GB iPhone Air on June 1st at the same mall I initially purchased it from while my services were suspended.  This line was fully cancelled today since my services were reinstated following successful proof of my identity.

However, while wi-fi calling is working at this time, cellular services simply refuse to work on this phone now that I’m back in good standing with Koodo.  I’ve done a SIM swap in-store, factory reset, network settings reset, etc.  I’ve followed customer support’s instructions to a T but still to no avail.

Koodo customer support is also suggesting that the suspicious flag most likely derived from the IMEI of the phone which was financed by Best Buy.  To put it simply, is my *only* matter for recourse to go all the way back to Best Buy or can Koodo possibly resolve this issue for me without me having to resort to that?  It’s a 30-minute drive away, so I’m hoping this can be resolved without having to go out of town to do so.

When you go into your self serve account, do you see this new line active for the 1TB Air? Or is the other line active?  Or is both lines active?

If there is an issue with your IMEI, I would suggest you to call Apple Support at 1-800-692-7753 and confirm with the customer service rep whether it is a blacklisted phone. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/102858

Thank you, MilkyWay!  I looked up the IMEI on a third party (https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/) and found it is blacklisted somehow!  I will head over to Best Buy right away.  Thanks again for the tip!

Was the phone not new or in a sealed box?
