Issues with Koodo Prepaid

Hello Community

I am having one heck of a time as a new Koodo prepaid customer.  Firstly, I could not  even login to this community to post with my account.  It just kept sending me in circles and asking me to login over and over and over so I had to use my Facebook login.

My main beef, though, is with the supposed call forwarding.  Signed up for 365 prepaid  plan.  Said it included call forwarding.  As soon as I switched from Public Mobile, my number starts getting spammed with junk calls.  I immediately go into the phone and try to send them to a fax number like I had previous only to find out that I can’t do conditional call forward on prepaid!  Talk about false advertising!   So I’ve basically been duped, I’m locked in for a year, and here I am with a business phone getting spam calls constantly cluttering up my voicemail.  To say I am not impressed is the understatement of the year.

Any solutions for this??  Surely, I cannot be the only one with these issues.

Only call forward unreachable is available on Koodo Prepaid. If you want to use a different type, you will need to move to a postpaid plan and pay the extra $5 per month. Otherwise, you will be charged a pay-per-use rate of $0.60 per minute. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/call-forwarding

To transfer to Koodo Postpaid, you should be able to do it on your Self-Serve account with the Fast Switch option. The balance on your prepaid plan can be transferred over to the postpaid plan after activation by scheduling a callback through Koodo Assist or by visiting your nearest Koodo store. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/moving-prepaid-postpaid-monthly-service

Thank you, I did not know I could do that.  So far, the monthly post-paid is more than I want to pay, but I will keep an eye out for any promos and make a macro or something to deal with the spam in the meantime.  Thanks again.

The last time I checked, not all customers were eligible for a fast switch.

In terms of value, based on my personal experience, Public Mobile has better offers compared to other prepaid plans (except for the 365 plan)

Good to know.  I will have to look into that.
Yes, I’ve been with PM for years and originally went to them from Koodo.  They have gotten progressively worse over the years and the last straw was they raised my plan from $19 to $24.  The 365 plan is, like, $12.50 a month I think.  So even at what I was paying, it is significantly cheaper.  Therefore, I couldn’t stay with PM.  I literally need nothing more than the bare minimum for phone and their plans have simply become too expensive.  Too bad.
