I am about to travel to France & Spain and I am wondering if I can text via hotel wifi (on airplane mode) on my iPhone to iPhone user in Canada without being charged for roaming. Thanks!

Yes that is okay since it will be using iMessage which doesn’t require any cellular connection.

Hi there,
I’ll chime in to say that you’re better off turning data roaming off AND the data toggle as well before turning Airplane Mode on. People have been complaining that they’re getting charged EasyRoam with airplane mode ON as their phone might still be accessing the network once in a while.
