URGENT: Need QR activation for esim

Existing customer. I completed an eSIM swap in Self Serve using the EID of my new phone. Self Serve says the eSIM is ready and that I should receive a notification, but no notification arrives. Your Android/Pixel eSIM help page says to use the generic QR code to manually pull the waiting eSIM, but the QR code is missing from the page.

I have no way of using any other esim transfer tools/technology. The push DOES NOT arrive. My phone requires a QR.

This website and workflows wasted several hours of my life. First, the chatbot explicitly says ‘if self-serve activation push fails, use the QR’. There’s no QR at the end of the self-serve process, just ‘use the help menu’. Then, the help menu has a section on the QR code. There’s no QR. I submitted a request through the chatbot escalation ‘ask a rep’, absolutely no indication that a ticket is created, absolutely no way to know if my request has been created and is in a queue, and given the state of Koodo’s website I would not be surprised this just go straight to void /dev/null.

I’m really not happy about the time I wasted here. I have way better things to do. Do not take me on a tech support merry-go-round of ‘have you tried to turn it on and off again’, I’ll just find a new provider that can provide non-broken steps and non-broken website for existing customers.  Give me an activation QR.

Thank you!

It seems like you tried everything already, so let me flag a rep for you. Hopefully they will be able to sort the mess 😊

It should be noted that you need an active Internet connection to receive the notification from Koodo. Did you restart your phone and subsequently set up the wi-fi connection on your device?

I had to go to an associate third party brick and mortar shop, get the personnel there to get in touch with actual humans on Koodo’s side. The failed activation/swap left me with *no phone working*.

Fortunately the folks at the shop were great. Unfortunately Koodo corporate support gave them a ride on the good ol’  ‘have you tried to turn it on and off again’ merry-go-round.

All in all, I spent more than 8hrs in this. When I travel to Europe, there’s nothing more simple than swapping eSIMS, I don’t understand just how things can be so backward and challenging here, it’s nuts.

Essentially my work day is ruined, I went to bed at 1am yesterday, and I had to spend for a physical SIM on top.

Worst experience, next hurdle I’m changing carrier even if the bundles are a little worst. Again I do not comprehend how, in 2026, it’s possible to drop the ball so hard.

The chatbot refers to a QR. The FAQ refers to a QR. On the actual manip to renew an eSIM, there’s no QR. Try two times to enter your IMEI and they lock it on their side, the rep on the brick and mortar shop showed me the actual entries for my phone on Koodo’s system.  Nothing to do, it was actually locked. How would I have known otherwise? Well good luck, you can’t because the self service portal is worthy of a 2010 webapp coded by interns paid in redbull.

I want to scream. If I provided services like that to a customer I’d be fired on the spot. In case it’s not clear I’m referring to Koodo Corporate, not the brick and mortar shop that helped me, they were great.
