Question

Unable to register for Self Serve

Last week I purchased a phone plan and SIM card for Koodo myself online. After receiving the email containing my client contract, I attempted to sign up for Self Serve. I was able to enter my data that the chat assistant requested and clicked through the link to create a password and provide additional data. Upon attempting to complete the process, I was presented with an error message saying that my account could not be created and to request a callback through the chat service. When attempting to do so, it requests that I log into self serve which I’m unable to.

I attempted to sign up several more times and the same error occurred. I’ve confirmed that all entered data matches what I provided at the time of purchase. Can a Koodo agent please contact me to resolve this issue? I intend on porting my current phone number from Bell, so the sooner I can log into Self Serve the sooner I can cancel my old phone plan.

Self Serve registration can't complete until the line is actually activated, so hitting the error right at the end usually means the activation hasn't gone through yet. Did you activate the SIM card that came with your order? Online orders also get reviewed before they go live and that can take a day or two.

Since you can't get into Self Serve or Assist, the webstore team can be reached directly at koodo.webstore@koodomobile.com that one doesn't need a login and they can check the status of your order.

As well, I would recommend leaving your Bell line active until the port actually completes. Once a number is cancelled it gets released and you may not be able to get it back.

The SIM card has yet to arrive, so no it has not been activated. I’ve received multiple emails since its shipment from Koodo encouraging me to sign up for Self Serve and clicking through the provided link ends in the same result.

I reviewed the process for porting a number prior to making my purchase, so the Bell line will remain active until the number has been ported successfully.

I’ll reach out to the webstore team as no where has it indicated that the SIM needs to be in my possession to register for Self Serve. I’m planning on ordering a SIM and adding a line for my wife, but that can also only be done through Self Serve.

Your line is activated when it is approved and shipped/mailed to you.

If you are running into difficulties with creating your self serve account, I recommend requesting a call back via Koodo assist.  Note that you do not need to have a Koodo account to request a callback.  When asked by Koodo Assist, just say that you are not a customer yet and want to speak with a rep.
