Transfer from Public Mobile to Koodo

I started the process of transferring to Koodo post paid from Public Mobile, through my Public Mobile self serve account.  After entering my phone’s 32 digit EID, it asked me to confirm that I approve a credit check, which I did.  While it was processing it encountered an error and booted me out.  Then I got an email from Koodo Self Serve registration saying “we’re almost ready to set up your Koodo self serve account...complete your registration now”.  I completed the registration, but the self-serve account doesn’t tell me anything about the status of whether I successfully registered or not.  Am I waiting for something or should I try to start from the beginning again with entering my EID from the PUblic Mobile self serve account?

Hi @Brian198214052, unfortunately the account did not fully activate, you may need to go through the activation process again.

Thank you.

While I was waiting, I decided to enter the EID again and go through the process as you suggested.  It confirmed that the credit check and everything completed and I hit confirm at the end of the process.  I received a text from Public Mobile to confirm that I wanted to approve the request to transfer the phone number to Koodo.  I replied “Yes” to the message and now I do not have a cellular signal.    I assume the activation process is underway and there is a waiting period?  How long can I expect to be without a cellular signal?

That’s great, we can see the new account, it was created successfully! Please try to complete the online profile registration for this account as well.

Have you already restarted your phone? If not, please power off and power on again and connect to Wi-Fi to receive the eSIM setup notification.

If you do not receive it, please let us know and we’ll send an eSIM setup guide via email.

Ok, I got the esim setup from what I can tell...I had setup the Koodo self serve from a link in an email I had earlier today (after my 1st attempt to set this all up).  I could get on the self-serve, but there was no info on it.

Now when I try to login to self-serve, it says I have the wrong email address or password...seems odd.  Is there issues with self serve right now?  Or was my activation of self serve before faulty?

The online profile looks active now, we’d recommend trying to log in again with via an incognito page or with a different browser or device.
