I signed up and got credit approved to move to koodo for services, however I dont have a phone (lost) to answer the message to approve the port over.  I was hoping to move to koodo and then pay a phone plan on top.  Any idea how i might get this going without the yes message?

I suppose you don’t have another SIM card either? Have you tried calling your actual provider to see what solution they are offering you?

If you get in touch with a public mobile rep, they should be able to make the number “open to port” - bypassing the need for the sms response. Once done, you can attempt to port the number to Koodo.

Alternatively, you can acquire a new public mobile sim from your closest Koodo or Telus store and perform a SIM card swap on your public mobile account. In doing so you will regain access to your public number and can respond to the SMS message by inserting the sim in another device be it a friend or a loved ones. This method will likely be easier, though you will have to pay about $10 plus tax for a new sim.
