I can't Activate Self Serve Account due to Verification Code

Jack Murphy

I have bought a 100GB self-serve plan. However, when trying to activate my account through Koodo Self-Serve, the verification code does not get sent to my phone number.

I have tried contacting support agents, but I cannot do so because I can't log in to any account.

Please help me resolve this issue as soon as possible. Many thanks.

Based on what you have described so far, it seems you used Fast Switch with Public Mobile to switch to Koodo as you’re using the same sim card. Fast Switch can only be done to switch to Koodo postpaid and not prepaid, so based on that and your email I would say you’re correct.

In that case, have you tried to register for Koodo self-serve under Monthly Postpaid instead of prepaid? You can try this by following the link below, hitting register now, and then selecting monthly when prompted by the chat bot.

Besides that I wouldn’t use the link provided in the email as based on what you have described, the link has expired. If it doesn’t work let us know and we can flag a rep to assist.

Are you a new customer that signed up online?

This is a post paid or prepaid account?

Did you get set up via esim?  Is the line working on your phone?

I'm a new Koodo customer, I signed up less than a month ago, coming over from Public Mobile through a signup offer. It's a prepaid account. I still have my original SIM card in the phone ,I didn't swap it when I switched from Public Mobile to Koodo. The line is currently working fine, I can make calls/texts/data on it.

Since you signed up for Koodo Prepaid, you should have used the following link to create your Self-Serve account. https://www.koodomobile.com/kpre/login?service_type=koodo_prepaid

Unfortunately, the reps in the Community have limited access to prepaid accounts. If you are still having issues, you can schedule a callback through Koodo Assist and speak with a rep to figure out the issue with the verification code. https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/koodoprepaid/koodoprepaid.html

Did you get a prepaid account sign up confirmation?

Did you sign up for a prepaid esim or buy a prepaid sim card?

Are you sure you signed up for a Koodo prepaid account and not a postpaid account?

I received this email about 2 weeks back, I believe I might be postpaid. Either way it would help to figure out how to access my account because all the link sent by Kudo don’t work and I am unable to create a self serve account.

You should still be able to get a callback without an account. If you like, I can flag a rep to look closer and see what the issue could be.

That seems like you are on a postpaid plan, since you set up pre-authorized payments. I have flagged a rep to help you out.

Hi @Jack Murphy, unfortunately, we can’t access your account without you being logged in with your self serve credentials. We’d recommend getting in touch via private message on social media via Facebook, Twitter/X or Instagram or scheduling a callback the Koodo Assist. Let us know if you run into any issues!
