Question

Charged twice for Stream+. Unable to get help.

So, I am a Public Mobile customer, and on September 28th was offered a promo for a Stream+ package (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+) for $23/month via Koodo Self Serve. I signed up, and my card was charged the full amount plus NS sales tax (26.22), but whilst setting everything up, about 30 minutes later, totally umprompted, and without clicking anything, I was automatically "upgraded" to Stream+ Premium and charged an ADDITIONAL $39+tax (44.46), and I have been unable to contact support since.

I immediately tried the 1-800 support number, but was placed on a 1 hour hold without anyone answering. The Koodo Assist bot cannot help me, because I do not have an active Koodo mobile subscription. Who should I turn to next, short of visiting a store, to resolve this issue?

I REALLY would like to avoid going through my bank for a chargeback.

Regards

Hi @Nik902

We understand that it can be frustrating since you didn’t manage to get help.

We have looked into it and we can see that the Stream+ Basic was activated first and then it was switched to Stream+ Basic with Netflix Premium. There is a refund that has been created for the Stream+ Basic subscription. If it is not yet visible on your credit card, we recommend checking again in the upcoming days.

Regarding the uprgrade from Stream+ Basic to Stream+ Basic with Netflix Premium,  have you linked an existing Netflix account? If so. was this a Netflix Premium subscription?

The plan can automatically change if the user switch Netflix from ad version to premium .

Koodo reps don't have access to Stream+, that's why the phone line and Koodo Assist can't help you with it. For Stream+ refunds you need to fill out the TELUS support form and select TELUS Stream+ as the option: https://www.telus.com/en/subscription/supportform

As well, log in to Self Serve, go to the Subscriptions tab and select Manage under Stream+ to check which tier you're on now. If it still shows Premium, switch it back to Basic so you don't get billed for Premium again next month. more info here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/stream-plus
