Can't create my self service account abroad.

Currently I’m in France, however I forgot to switch to a monthly plan for international text and calling.  Unfortunately I didn’t make a self service account before leaving Canada so when I attempt to create an account the verification text sent to my koodo number is not received. Anyway I could get around that? I could not find a support contact email so I am trying here. Thanks for your time.

Hi there,

Do you happen to have a prepaid account and that’s why you need to switch to a monthly plan? As that would explain why you’re not receiving the verification SMS message. Koodo prepaid only works in Canada and the USA, you won’t receive messages in France.

I don’t believe there is a work around but are you able to prompt the bot to have it send the verification via an email instead? Unfortunately, only you can make the self serve account, one cannot be made for you via a rep.

You can also try other travel sims while you’re abroad and switch when you come back, such as AirAlo and Saily, that might be the way to go if you can’t access self-serve to make the switch to monthly postpaid.

if you’re on postpaid / monthly, you do not actually need Self Serve to use Easy Roam. If you already have a Koodo monthly plan, you can add Easy Roam by SMS or a rep can add it remotely while you are traveling. What is your specific blocker right now, are you trying to add Easy Roam or something else? Do you have a connection at the moment? If not, that would indicate you’re on prepaid.
