Question

E-Sim - using in Europe

If I bought an e-Sim while travelling in Germany, do I leave my airplane mode on or turn it off.  I do not want to pay the $16.00/day international roaming charges

Did this help you find an answer to your question?

Why not wait until you get to canada then?

Also koodo esim vouchers you need to frustratingly purchase in store

Why would I buy an e-Sim when I get back to Canada.  The point of getting an e-Sim to use in Europe so I don’t have to pay international roaming charges while I am here!

BTW, you don’t have to buy e-Sim from Koodo, they can be purchased anywhere online in whatever country you are in.

I was able to find the answer to my question though.  Airplane mode needs to be on and the Data e-sim will allow me to access data when Wi-Fi is not available.

Im confused, are you talking about buying a Koodo esim or an esim from a german telecom?

Turning airplane e mode on will prevent the phone from connecting to any network at all. You should be able to turn off the Koodo sim from the same sim manager page you went to to install the German e-SIM.
