Not allowed to buy an Iphone from koodomobile website?

I’m trying to buy an Iphone 17e on the Koodo website and it will not let me. 

The problem appears to be my address. The site tell me address the phone will be shipped to must match my credit card’s billing address. It does. Identically. It matches. I don’t know what the problem is. 

The address is the same address that pay my koodo phone bill every month. It hasn’t changed in 7 years.

The site will not let me purchase this phone. I have bought a phone from the koodo site before and never had a problem. 

Is it a problem that my number is a Nova Scotia number? It never was before. My mailing address is in Newfoundland, and its identical to my billing address. This was never a problem with Koodo before. 

Can I get this fixed, or should I just go and buy in store?

In your koodo profile is your mailing address the Newfoundland address?

Yes it is the Newfoundland address. It has been the newfoundland address for 7 years. 

Specifically the pop up warning says “ The shipping address must match the province of your phone number or current billing address”

The shipping address does not match the province (its a Nova scotia number), but it does match the Newfoundland billing address.

I tried the enter your address manually option and it goes fine until I chose Newfoundland. Then I get this popup: “ The shipping address must match the province of your phone number or current billing address.”

The problem is the province?.

I triple checked my address on file with koodo. There is only one difference. On file with Koodo it says “NF” and on the drop down menu in the check out it is “NL”. 

It was “NF” when i first signed up for koodo. I think it officially changed to NL a few years back. Is this the problem?

Hi there ​@Reveriebee We want to make sure that we cover everything. Can you clear the cache and cookies of the browser, restart it and try again ? You can also try to log in and attempt the purchase in the incognito/private mode of your browser. 

Let us know how it went.

I cleared my cache and cookies, and restarted my firefox browser. No luck.

I tried with private mode in my firefox browser. No Luck.

Got it ​@Reveriebee  in some cases, the address can be the cause of this. We verified the last service agreement and the word “ SUITE” was not present in the address. Can you make the change to remove it in the Self Serve account and test ? 

You can download the Service Agreement to double check how the address shows.

Tried it yet another time on safari browser on my current iphone, not my laptop this time. No luck again. This is now over 10 times. Rather discouraging. I don’t think buying an iphone should be this hard. Do you, Koodo rep, have access to my koodo account? Can you see if anything is wrong, if i’m missing anything? 

All I keep getting is the same pop-up : “The shipping address must match the province of your phone number or current billing address.” 

TO the best of my knowledge, my current billing address is identical to my mailing address. I cannot see a difference. Help.

The word “Suite” is not currently in my billing address. I don’t understand. I can’t remove it, because I don’t see it there at all. I have downloaded the service agreement and the word “suite” is not there either.

I went to “Billing Address” under My Profile and chose from the Canada Post powered drop down menu for addresses. I found mine. I switched to it. It said “Success! It may take a few minutes for the changes to appear.” This is the third time today I’ve done this. It hasn’t changed. The word “suite” did not appear at any point in my address before or after, and doesn’t appear in my Service Agreement either.

One detail I noticed. The address in my Service Agreement and the Billing address in my profile are is slightly different orders, though it is the same address.

In the Service Agreement: 12 MADEUP ROAD NAME 44 is the first line of my address 

In the Billing Address in My Profile : 44-12 MADEUP ROAD NAME Is the first line of the address

Does this make a difference?

I got your private message, and did what you asked, and attempted the purchase again, and again it didn’t work. Same result.

Update: It won’t let me add the word “Suite”.  It autopopulates the correct address without that word. The 44-12 address.

I tried manually adding my address this time, and the red stop sign popup only comes up when I select “newfoundland” from the drop down list.  Something on the koodo side of things is convinced that I’m still residing in NS .

Not sure if this would work, but I would suggest you to contact the Koodo Web Store by sending an email to koodo.webstore@koodomobile.com. They may be able to assist you further with the address issue.

If I recall correctly, Koodo's online store had a block in their system not  allowing users to upgrade if customer's numbers province is different than their addresses, as there are pricing differences between provinces. You can chedule a call back and ask a rep to manually override and order it for you.You can go here www.koodo.com/chat and ask to speak with a rep from webstore.
