Has anyone else used the # 250-755-4852 to sign up for Koodo Mobile plans?

I got this number from a legit Canadian blog site, called it but no answer but got a text message from this number shortly after offering to help me setup. 

 

I gave them name, address and driver’s license number and they gave me an account number but over 24 hours later no emails from Koodo for this account and no reply anymore from this number. 

 

Have I been scammed or something? stolen identify ? loans or accounts open using my driver’s license number and address?

Although mentionned on RFD or reddit, I don’t know that number as being an official Koodo contact; maybe someone at Koodo can confirm? Koodo usually handles signups via their website or official numbers. If you gave personal info including your driver’s license and now no legit follow-up or emails from Koodo, that’s super sketchy.

Yes this number is legitimate.

This number is the number used by the Telus Reddit Team for new customers.  There are many confirmations on Reddit and RedFlagDeals that this number is real

I feel a better. 

They also gave me a new account number in SMS after taking my information. 

But I haven’t seen any emails from Koodo Mobile referencing that account number after more than 24 hours? What are my options at this point? 

 

I tried to schedule a call with agent but but I dont have an existing Koodo number so that is not working.

You may want to wait until you receive an email confirmation from Koodo. It is possible that they are still doing a credit check to ensure everything is good before you can go ahead and register for your Self-Serve account.

Just to double check, there was no activation email in the spam folder or maybe the service agreement emailed to you?

Not for the account that agent from that SMS gave me. 

But I wasn’t sure if the agent was also going to create a second plan for my spouse, so I went to Koodo Mobile website and purchased a plan for her. 

I have received an email from Koodo Mobile for that account and a temporary number. 

I have also got a confirmation that a SIM has been shipped. 

But, again, not for the account number for myself that the agent texted me.
