So I want to get a new plan… but confused by this Happy Tab which seems to be a phone for free. It says Save $709 in Tab Bonus at the top. Includes a SIM card, $25 shipping. Monthly Payments are $0, No money up front. No payments for 24 months. Can anyone explain why I would a phone for free. A Happy Tab Lite is $46 up front, $10 a month...why would I take that and not a free phone. Something is not being explain clearly, it can’t be a phone for free.

Hi

The phone is not free, the $709 is a Tab Bonus and that is a credit in your account, not a discount you keep no matter what. The balance drops a set amount each month over 24 months, and if you cancel, upgrade, or change to an ineligible rate plan before it reaches $0, you pay whatever is left of it plus tax. More information is here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/Tab-bonus

So $0 up front and $0 a month really means you are committing to stay 24 months on an eligible plan.

The Tab levels themselves are mostly a way of splitting the phone cost between up front and monthly, and which ones you are offered depends on the plan you pick. I would compare the monthly plan price each option shows you at checkout before deciding, that is usually where the difference shows up.

Thank you for your reply. What is considered an eligible plan? Right now I use my own phone on a prepaid plan $35 a month with 100gb of data...the phone I want to get is an S24 Ultra. Does that require a specific plan?

Tab financing needs a postpaid monthly plan, prepaid plans are not eligible. Getting the S24 Ultra on the Happy Tab would mean moving off your $35 prepaid plan to a monthly plan. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/moving-prepaid-postpaid-monthly-service

Eligible means whichever monthly plans the site offers you at checkout when you pick the phone - no separate list to memorize. And once you are on a Tab, Self Serve only shows you plans you can switch to while keeping the Tab bonus.

If you go that route and want to keep your number, set up the new postpaid line and port your prepaid number over. I would compare the monthly plan price against your current $35 before deciding, that is usually where the real cost difference is

I’m curious .

Did you receive a special offer? I noticed the S24 Ultra is listed on the site at $0 upfront and $62.50/month for 24 months when I checked.

I just want to make sure there wasn’t a mix-up, because I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed if the phone you ordered turns out to be a different model
