I have never had anything to do with koodo services but today I received 1 email saying “Your email address has been successfully verified” and another email saying “Your activation is now complete”.
Since there has not been any other login to my email besides from me, HOW has this email been verified?
And how can I get my email address 100% out of your records?

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately there is indeed nothing you can do. The trouble is that you are not able to verify your account in any way, due to the fact that you simply don’t have an account. So Koodo (even the employees) have no way of verifying that you own the email address that someone registered with them. As for the verification, that is odd. Perhaps an overzealous store employee manually approved it when someone signed up in store without verifying it really belonged to the new customer.
Hmm, that is very odd. It seems someone signed up using your email address. There isn’t much you can do unfortunately, except have those emails go to spam. Let’s hope the actual account holder will notice their mistake when they are not receiving email notifications etc.
Unfortunately I’m in the same boat, having a “popular” email address. Whenever I receive such mails they go straight to spam. There is no additional danger because they won’t have your actual address or billing information on file.
Thanks for the answer - what I find disturbing is how I had an “email verified” message. Email verification should only be possible by a link to that email address but I wonder if it’s been possible to activate via some phone app.
Let’s see if anyone else has any insight. Zero disrespect to you but I’m not impressed koodo support appears to be “100% bot or ask the community”, unless I missed something.
And you’re right, I can & will hide/block sender if it’s not possible to fix the root cause.
