Can i get a new phone but do not plan to use right away?

I’ve been using koodo for over 4 years and plan to get a new phone but do not intend to switch to a new phone right away. I understand if i don’t want to be charged for breaking the contract i have to be with them for 2 years, correct?

Yes, you can keep using your existing SIM card on your current phone. However, you need to make sure that you are not cancelling your plan within the 24-month Tab period or else you will be responsible for the remaining Tab and Tab Bonus balance.

Koodo doesn’t actually have any contracts.

Do you mean you don’t want to change your PLAN? Because you can certainly order a phone and not start using that right away.

As for upgrading your phone, if your current plan allows the Tab (depends on how old your plan is and how much pay for it), there is no reason not to. Here is some more information: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/Keeping-or-changing-your-plan-when-you-upgrade-your-phone

You could also order any phone you want from a third party seller and use that with your plan. Koodo is flexible in that way :)

If you’re not going to use the phone right away I would suggest waiting for the iPhone 14 to go back on sale, and then purchasing it.

No point in paying full price for the phone if it’s going to sit in the box for a bit anyways!
