Question

Better to buy a phone upfront?

I currently have an excellent BYOD plan. I need a new phone, but the monthly cost for a new phone plus the higher level plan that you need to get with a Tab would be way too expensive. Am I correct that I would be better off buying a new phone outright so i can keep my current plan?

What phone are you interested in getting?

Yes you can buy a new phone outright so you can keep your current plan.

But note that since you will not be on a tab contract, that Koodo can raise your plan price with just 30 days notice as per the CRTC wireless code of conduct

I am looking at the iPhone 17. I currently have a 13 so I tend to keep them for a long time. Thank you for your feedback!

If you are buying the iphone outright instead of on a tab, I highly recommend purchasing directly from Apple, as they are slightly cheaper than buying from any of the wireless providers
