What's the difference between 4G and 4G LTE?

I was looking to upgrade plans and one is 20GBs at 4G LTE speed and another is 20GBs at 4G speed, I asked a rep over the phone and she didn’t sound like she knew, just said that they’re “pretty much the same”, obviously if they’re giving you the option between 1 or the other then there is a difference, is one better than the other?

The 4G LTE plans were the naming of the older suite plans that weren’t throttled.

The 4G plans are the naming of the newer suite of plans that are throttled to 100 Mbps.

All plans now should be part of the newer suite that are throttled to 100Mbps but if I personally had to choose between the two I would go with the 4G LTE option in hopes that it’s one of the older ones that may give you access to a little faster speeds.

If the 2 plans showing up at the same time when you tried to change your plan, 4G and 4G LTE are refering to the same type of speed.
