I am trying to remove the Pay-Per-Use Intl Long Distance add-on from my account to avoid accidental charges, but the self serve says “some add-ons cannot be removed”.

Please assist.

@mokoodo Not sure if I follow….how would you encounter accidental charges? That feature is only to allow calls from Canada to other places. Are you maybe thinking about roaming charges? This feature is not meant for that.

@Bernard Koodo

If I misdial a number starting with 1, I could call a US number by mistake.  Or I could return a call to a US number.  Or I could misclick in my phone book and choose a contact with an international number (used for whatsapp).  Or I could say “Hey Google, call <international contact> on whatsapp” and noise in my car could make the last part illegible.  Or one of my kids can borrow the phone and call their long-distance crush.  Or I could get high on poutine and decide to call Warren Buffett to give him stock advice.  Or…

I want to prevent(*) my phone from calling international number unless they are included in the “unlimited LD pack” (which for some reason I cannot pick, but that’s a question I asked in another thread).

(*) Well, not exactly, I just don’t want to pay the PPU rates, but that amounts to the same thing.

Please assist.

If you enable the LD Perk, you will need the Pay-Per-Use Intl Long Distance add-on in order to make LD calls in your LD Perk

Yep, that’s what the rep told me, it’s either/or.

Thanks for your help.
