Transfer LTE smartwatch eSIM from Galaxy Watch to Apple Watch

I’m switching from a Galaxy Watch LTE to an Apple Watch Cellular and want to transfer my existing Koodo smartwatch line/eSIM.

I do not want a new line or another activation fee, since I already paid the $70 fee when I first activated the service with my old galaxy watch lte.

Can Koodo simply transfer/re-provision the existing smartwatch service to the Apple Watch? Or are they going to rip you off ?

The $70 fee is to activate a new phone line in-store.

Did you get your line or cellphone at the same time?

Activating your smartwatch with a OneNumber Plan is done directly on your phone.  There is no need to go to a store.

Just to confirm, are you moving to an iPhone as well? An Apple Watch on Koodo needs an iPhone XR/XS or later on iOS 18.1+, and the watch has to be a cellular Series 6, SE 2nd generation, Ultra or newer running watchOS 11.1 or later. If you're staying on the Galaxy phone it won't pair at all. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/smartwatch-faq

There isn't an eSIM you move across, the watch profile is provisioned per device. The OneNumber plan is what sits on your account. The steps on the help page are unpair the old watch, select Remove plan on it, then pair the new one.

For the fee, I would recommend starting in Self Serve and going as far as the order summary before you confirm anything. Any one-time charge is itemized there so you'll see the actual number, and you can back out if it's still there.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I am moving to iPhone as well. The $70 was charged initially when I asked them that I needed a connection for my watch ( now im gling with the option in having same number as my phone ).

My use case is that I am moving to the Apple ecosystem with a new iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra. I am not worried about the phone since it uses a physical SIM card (I hope the new iPhone supports that too). My concern was entirely about the watch migration; since I cannot move it physically, I wanted to know how that process works and if it is complicated. I am now atleast optimistic that I will not have to pay any initiation fees again. Right ?
