Just wanted to confirm that with these two perks i can message and call my friend free of charge as long as im in canada right? She will have a Germany simcard and landline

Text messaging definitely. For voice calling you definitely would not be charged long distance. Calls would still use airtime though, so if you do not have an unlimited plan you could be charged overage if you exceed your monthly minutes.
