Hi,

Currently I’m with another carrier, but I want to switch to Koodo and keep my number.

Can you please tell me which are the steps for this?

Thank you.

BR,

Max

@Maximilien It really simple actually...if you have your own phone and just need a SIM card head to here: https://www.koodomobile.com/bring-your-own-phone?INTCMP=KMNew_NavMenu_Shop_BYOP

Buying online will also save you do $50 connection fee.

Hope this helps!

Hey there!

You can sign up online, a temporary phone number will be assigned, and once you get the sim card shipped (there will be a $5 sim card fee for online orders), you can then proceed with porting your phone number over, using the steps here: https://koo.do/PortIn

Hi.

Thanks for the answers. So basically first I have to ask the other provider to allow me to port the number to Koodo, right?

To sum up:

  1. I inform my current provider that I leave
  2. I ask them to port the number to Koodo - do I need to provide them the temporary Koodo number at this step?
  3. Wait the port confirmation from the current carrier
  4. Replace the SIM - DONE!

In conclusion, the step 2 is not really clear regarding the porting.

Many thanks!

Regards,

Max

DO NOT cancel with your current provider or you will lose your number.

Follow the steps pointed to by Flo Koodo above.

OK, sure… Flo Koodo’s step would be actually the first step in my above list.

But what I don’t know is how this porting works: should I ask my current provider to do this? Or can I do the porting with Koodo? Can I do this online from my new Koodo account?

Thanks!

Juse follow the steps in the link that Flo shared above (https://koo.do/PortIn).

The steps at that link guide you through how to transfer the number to Koodo using Koodo"s website.

You don't have to do anything with your current provider, the porting gets done by koodo, and you can do it from your koodo account following the steps above😊

Great! I will do so.

Thank you all!

Have a good one!
